I AND VIRTUALLY EVERY MEMBER OF MY FAMILY, HAVE BEEN LONG TIME PONTIAC PEOPLE, FIREBIRDS, GRAND PRIX, BONNEVILLE'S ETC. I ALSO WORK IN THE AUTOMOTIVE AFTERMARKET, THE YOUNGER PEOPLE, AKA NOT YET NEARING RETIREMENT DO NO RELATE TO BUICK AT ALL AND I DOUBT EVER WILL. PUT SOMEONE THAT IS A LITTLE YOUNGER IN CHARGE OR CONDEMN GM'S LONG TERM HEALTH, CUSTOMER BASE, AND FUTURE. PRESIDENT OBAMA AND HIS ADVISORS DO NOT WORK IN THE AUTO INDUSTRY, AND I BEGIN TO WONDER IF THE PEOPLE CALLING THE SHOTS IN GM ARE CAR PEOPLE. OR JUST HIGH PAID ACCOUNTANTS, PEOPLE BY CARS FOR MANY REASONS, A GREAT DEAL OF THAT IS DRIVEN BY EMOTION AND DESIRE. IF PONTIAC IS KILLED OFF, I AND MANY OTHERS WILL SUPPORT FORD, AND ENJOY WATCHING GM FADE AWAY.

I beleive the reason they want go keep buick is that is very sucsesful in China. They make a buick regal in china that is very popular with the young and wealthy. You can guess the rest.
