Full story: Columbus Dispatch

The most common deals under the government's $3 billion "Cash for Clunkers" program, aimed at putting more fuel-efficient cars on the road, replaced old Ford or Chevrolet pickups with new ones that get only marginally better gas mileage, according to an analysis of new federal data by the Associated Press.

The program was never truly about improving effeciency of vehicles and over gas milage of the vehicles on the road. It was all about artificially pumping up manufacturing and spending numbers prior to this past weeks elections, in an attempt to keep the support for Obama and the Dems. Wait until the end of the year when 4th quarter numbers come out without an incentive (cash for clunkers or 1st time home buyers credit) to pump them up. Can't wait to see what the excuse is going to be.

The government spent $24,000 per car once the rebate and administration costs were accounted for. Now we have to pay for the government investigation of "trade-ins -- in apparent violation of the program's requirements". With this kind of government involvement, tell me again exactly why we should even allow them to touch healthcare?

This one just keeps getting worse. The White House will spin it, of course.

It's easy to point at Washington but all of you who keep voting for tax and spend liberals in your local races need to wake up - this is where the future Congress starts.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Leo

It's hard to pin down a certain person today because they're being so vague and dithery. Ask them a question and they'll vacillate or be unable to give you a straight answer. You might suspect them of deceitful goings on but it's far more likely that they're simply in a world of their own and can't keep their mind on anything for long. Don't worry, they'll soon be back on planet earth.
