Even if they have the "right," anyone on a scooter or bicycle on 28th St, Chicago Dr, Alpine Ave, E. Beltline, etc. must have a death wish. Use some common sense.
I agree that it is common sense to not take a scooter or bicycle on busy roads if they cannot keep up with the flow of traffic. I don't even like taking my car on Alpine most days! However, sometimes it is necessary or unavoidable. Everyone on the roads needs to drive defensively, both those on two- and four-wheeled vehicles. If we all watch out for each other, fewer accidents will happen.

First of all, I'm not your friend. Secondly, your comment about not wanting to get in the middle of a group of bikers is no less threatning than my comment about crowding a scooter. If I was to get a dozen or so vehicles together and get in your way, hold you up and drive around you ILLEGALLY, because that's what this group I saw did, you wouldn't think that was being very courteous to other drivers and your comment would be that we thought we owned the road. Not sure about the brain surgery or launch codes thing, possible you're confused with your "bikers rule" mentality.
Crowding a scooter (or ANY vehicle) is unwise. And tailgating isn't exactly legal anyway. If you crowd another vehicle, you decrease the amount of time you have to react if something goes wrong.
If an animal or child run out in front of a vehicle they may have to rapidly slow down to avoid an accident. That means the person crowding them must do the same but has less time to slow down.
And if you're crowding a vehicle and =rear-end them, you're going to be the one getting the ticket

Hey stupid ****...it is called the speed limit...in other words you cant go OVER that speed...if you choose to go under then that is okay UNLESS there is a minimum speed posted. Where the hell did you get your license? Cracker jacks? I hope you get behind me while I'm on my scooter - I dont get intimidated by **** like you. You put that truck near me and you will be pulling it out of your buttocks. Yeah you heard me right. this little lady will shove it so far up your butt that you wont be able to sit down and drive.
So it's OK for me to WALK down the street at 3 mph??? It doesn't say I can't.

Someone states that they will drive their truck up onto me on my scooter and force me to pull over and that they enjoy it and I'm the hostile one? No - you dont know me :) Not by a long shot.
If you're going to take your scooter to a truck fight, I know you're not that bright.

Somebody started this discussion. WOOD-TV just has links to this forum. If you look to the right of your screen, you'll see there are two options to either start a poll or a discussion.

Even though stats show bike accidents are down, 4-wheeled drivers can be rude and dangerous. They need to slow down and give two-wheeled vehicles as much leeway as others. Bikes/mopeds have as much right to the road as anyone in a 4-wheeled vehicle.
I totally agree! Just because you have 4 wheels or 2 it should not matter!!! The road is for everyone to share, not hog JUST BECAUSE!!! Ppl in cars/trucks/SUV/whatever need to learn to do the speed limit, that means in 25 or 35 YOU DO 25 or 35, not 45 & ride our butts.

WE PAY TAXES (maybe not as much as you do cause to fill mine up is 4.50) WE HAVE JUST AS MUCH RIGHT AS ANYONE ELSE ON THE ROADS!!!! DO THE SPEED LIMITS!

Sec. 660 -(1) A person operating a bicycle, electric personal assistive mobility device, low-speed vehicle, or moped upon a roadway shall ride as near to the right side of the roadway as practicable, exercising due care when passing a standing vehicle or one proceeding in the same direction. A motorcycle is entitled to full use of a lane and a motor vehicle shall not be driven in such a manner as to deprive a motorcycle of the full use of a lane. This subsection shall not apply to motorcycles operated 2 abreast in a single lane. This from Michigan Motorcycle law 500.660. So if you're riding a moped on the street, MOVE TO THE RIGHT. You must share the lane with other vehicles, you DON'T get to have the lane all to your self.
