I have a '98 Taurus (24 valve DOHC engine. The Service Engine light stays on constantly. I replaced the EGR Vacuum Regulator Solenoid, the Pressure Feedback Exhaust sensor and the EGR valve. I had to go back to the repair station several times. The machanic cleaned the outside of the manifold. The light is still on.
Any ideas on how to elimonate this problem?? |

Take your car to a parts store and have them check it.
They said that my 1999 check engine light was on because of a fuel line pressure leak (or that I had put gas in the car while leaving it running, which I never do.) I have had it reset and it stayed off for 4 months. Then it was reset again a couple months ago and is still off. I think with my car, that it is probably the gasket around the gas cap not always sealing properly. |
