How to disable Factory installed anti-theft

1999 Taurus Wagon:
How do you disable the factory installed anti-theft device?
The only thing found in the owner's manual is 2 fuses inside the car on the drivers side.
One fuse also involves the ignition coil, so I don't believe I can take that one out.
The other fuse says it's for "GEM, RAP, and PATS".
Does anyone know what the "GEM" and "RAP" stand for?
I beleive that the PATS (perimeter anti-theft system) is draining my battery some how.
Please help!

02, taurus 167235 miles daily driver dash lights started to flash ,anti theft, charge, service engine light ,brake light , speedo going up and down, engine continues to run but no power, after 5 minutes of this car seem fine , just went for 45 min drive shut car off every thing dead opened hood to boost car started up fine, with out a boost

02 ford expedition. Fuel pump want run. After putting a new pump in I have figured out that it is the anti theft system. Can this be disabled.??? alnic69@att.net

As far as the speed going up and down, AFTER I replaced the whol;e transmission, it kept doing it. It's the speed sensor control doing that. Replace it. About $100.00!

Hi, I'm going thru a similar problem with a 1998 Ford Escort....RAP is Remote Anti theft Personality module, not sure about GEM & PATS is Passive Anti Theft System! You can go on FORDPATS.COM for more info. Hope it helps....Debi :)
