Error reading OBD2 code

Just want to share my experience using Digimoto Desktop v4.03 software with an All-In-One Elm device connected directly to my computer with a USB connector, not a serial-USB adaptor.
I bought these parts to us as a tool needed to clear a fault light in my 1996 Cougar. The Digimoto gave a P1400 error code which is indicates Low Voltage at the EGR valve sensor. I bought a new sensor.......... same problem! Took the car to an auto parts store and had them read the fault code. They found a P1443 code, not a P1400 code. I then went home and used another OBD2 software program that I found free on the net. It also correctly indicated a P1443 fault code. To correct this fault I changed the Canister Purge Solenoid as the code indicated. The new part cleared the light. I sent an email to Digimoto about this problem AND I HAVE RECEIVED NO RESPONSE. MY MESSAGE: BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!! Joe |
