1990 7up mustang conv.

I was told that the 1990 special order 7up mustang convertible was not a factory conv., that it was a coupe from the factory that was made into a conv. by a speciality shop. does anyone know if this is true?

igot a 93 gt its green with grey bottom how would i find out if its a 7up car?

all of the special edition mustang convertables from 90-93 started off as coupes and ford went to an aftermarket company to make them convertables

also 7ups were only made in 1990
i have one my self
and they were only made in lx
no gts
no 93s

I had the chance to buy one when I lived in Ca and I bring it with me in Belgium I am sure I have the only 7up in Europe

I forget I have and other one : a Mach1 1971 with a 460ci....

My name is Tim and my wife and I own one of these 5-speed 7-up's and just love it. Here is the info we have.
In 1990, Ford desired to increase the sales and visibility of the Mustang convertible, now 4 years since the last major update. They introduced the Deep Emerald Jewel Green 5.0 LX convertible. This car became the basis on which the later limited edition convertibles were created.
All of these limited editions started life out as LX coupes (as all prodcutions convertibles were) and were sent to Car & Concepts to have the roofs removed and special white tops installed. All the cars had Preferred Equipment Package (245A) and the Special Edition Package (562) installed. The 562 package consisted of Deep Emerald Jewel Green metallic paint, color keyed body side moldings and mirrors, white leather Mustang GT style seats, white interior trim (dash, door panels, armrests, rear seat), and the Mustang GT's 15" turbine wheels(instead of the 10 hole LX wheels). The only other options were Automatic Transmission, rear axel ratio, and a engine block heater.
These limited edition Mustangs are sometimes called the "7-UP" cars. The color and option package originally came about for a co-promotion with 7-UP. As part of a planned $20 Million in prizes, 30 of these cars were to be given away following the NCAA Final Four championship in April, 1990. A heavy amount of promotional and advertising displays featuring the car were to be displayed nationwide. Unfortunatly the whole deal fell through and 7-UP never ended up promoting the cars, for what reason is still unknown. The 30 cars ended up going to 7-UP employees in an internal contest.
The most reputable estimate on how many of these cars were produced is 4103 with 261 of them built for export. Of those, 2743 came with automatic transmissions

hi my name i cesar and i own one of the 261 7 up mustangs that were made for export. the dash is in kilometers, something i had to get used to. it is bone stock. and i love it. it separates me from the rest when i go to mustang car clubs. you dont see many of these anywhere. at the knots berry farm show there were over 12k cars not a single 7 up mustang. shows you just how rare they are. hey no cars are convertibles to begin with all are made convertible. the company that made the 7 up mustang (Cars and concepts) also cut the roof for the early chrystler le baron. check out the top.... its the same exact one.

Where can I source interior components for a 7-up car?-Front seats need new skins, door panels are rough... armrests too.

if you want to renew your 7 up interior, as i am your best bet is taking it to an upholstery shop and having it re-done the white is called oxford white. the center of the seats are leather but the sides are vinil. shouldnt be too expensive im paying $550. for my two front seats the rear two seat pieces, the carpet, and the side bags that sag with time. if you want to check out my stang go to my page and just scroll down,

I have a 1990 5.0 LX limited edition mustang emerald green with white top, all white leather interior only 31,000 km not miles. Approx 19,000 miles. Is all orginal except the battery. It is mint no dings or dents not even faded always kept in side. Does anyone know what it might be worth today.
