I am a 4x4 truck enthusiast and am not impressed with any of the trucks from any of the manufacturers exept for the dodge power wagon!Ford could be the best if it followed dodges lead on the 3/4 ton powerwagon and made an off road package that consisted of more than a sticker package with shocks! How about loosing some weight and better fuel mielage with more wheel travel!I am amused to hear Ford is going to produce a Bronco to compete with the Jeep Wrangler! It will be a rebadged ford escape!I am shure it will be pretty but it definatly won't be off road worthy as the jeep!Sorry ford! Ford needs somebody that understands what it takes to to make a real truck!I used to own a modified 1976 bronco that would go anywhere! I would like to see another like it and not a rebadged escape because I know better!

I have a 2002 Ford Ranger, two wheel drive, with 29,000 miles. Last week I noticed grease on the inside of the rear wheel. It turns out the seal for the axle was leaking. I have owned Fords, with a sprinkling of Chevys, for the past 45 years. This truck was driven easy and was never pushed. While it gets 30 miles per gallon, I have been happy with it but with this problem and also the check engine light has come on which means the emission standards need to be checked. I now know the reason foreign vehicles are becoming so much in demand. My next truck will either be a Dodge or a foreign truck.

Get a Dodge. I've had four Rams and I loved them all. Chevys are good too. Don't buy a foreign truck, they all suck.

Nobody makes products that 'all suck'!! Check out Consumer Reports for their testing. I think you will find the Tacoma the number one seller and the one recommended for small pickups. Too bad Ford has let their models languish and hasn't improved on their quality. There are good reasons that Toyota is becoming number one. They build the best products.

Ford quality! A lot of people talk about how tough the ford 9inch and the dana 44 axles are and from owning them on my 76 Bronko I can tell you I have lost track of how many times I have gone through bearings, axle housings, spindles, spindle bearings,u joints.I have since owned three Toyotas; 87,91, and currently a 1993 4-runner with 416,000km with no axle problems other than changing the front axle boot.We should send ford guys back to school! Dodge no longer deals with dana. But they are probable still crap.

I have a 2001 F150 with over 102,000 miles on it and never had a problem with it. I hear that Dodges have awesome engines but everything else in the drive train is pure crap. Transmissions being replaced 2 or more time still in warranty. Also, Dodge has the ugliest looking interiors of all the automakers. Chevy is more concerned with their driving comfort, who puts IFS on a heavy duty truck? When you lift a Chevy it is still lower than a stock F150 4x4.

Supercrewzin, I have heard the same about Dodge, although the Dodge power wagon is the only worthy 4x4 available from any of the companies.Who can claim 2 solid axles, 2 lockers,a disconecting swaybar with big tires stock! My Ford experiences wern't the greatest, I owned a 1976 Bronco and a 1993 3/4 ton 4x4, although they were great to drive,I just had a lot more maitenance than the Toyotas Although The Bronco would go anywhere! My toyotas couldn't do what the Bronco could do, but the 3/4 ton ford truck with 35inch tires 4inch superlift suspension with kicker shocks couldn't go where my stock toys would go.Out of the 2007 1/2 ton 4x4 trucks I would pick the chev! Although they are all pavement princesses I just like the chev better because it is better on gas and It looks like it has the same ground clearance as the rest.
