They just killed the PT Cruiser. Wasn't that a small car?

Chrysler is a mess, plain and simple.

I remember when the four cylinder K-cars saved Chrysler from bankruptcy. Here they go again, albeit with no Lee Iacocca and K-car to save them!

Dodge needs to bring back the Neon. I don't know why they got rid of it. I still see thousands of these things on the road.

Where are they going to get these small cars. I don't think our designers are involved. I also don't know which plants these vehicles are suppose to go into. My point is, we are out of the picture here, they are doing to us what we did to AMC when we bought JEEP.

They are trying to get them as re-badged Nissans made in Mexico or re-badged Chery's made in China. Surely you won't see Belvidere producing them.

Sterling heights just increased production and are working overtime building the avenger. It is not a small car but not to bad on gas.

The Avenger R/T gets 16mpg in the city....the same as my 2007 Tundra.

I wonder what rental company needed a new batch of cars?

Chrysler might as well just tool up the K-cars again and be done with it.

Wow, you guys are so pessimistic. I get back on the forum and to find anti Chrysler circle jerk.

I have some parade raining news for you guys, at the end of the day all your pissing, belly aching and moaning will be stomped by industry. Regardless of what you think, the knowledge you boast, or the insider automotive “secrets” you attain, are fairly useless and deemed as poor mans rhetoric. For the big three will churn on. Tell me if something changes tomorrow.

But didn't they cut a whole shift from your plant a few months ago? If a plant is working one shift they sometimes have to work overtime just to break even. At JNAP we were working 9 hours thru the week and Saturdays just to produce enough Jeeps to break even. At this point we went off of overtime because we can't sell them. We know they can't keep running like this, sooner or later we are going to have to shut down.(Inventory adjustment)

Thanks for helping out TOYOTA!!????
My dodge avenger gets 24 mpg in the city with the 2.4 liter. The dealers around here claim they can't keep them in stock. The sebring is the lemon. Can't give them away.

They are trying to give away the new minivan. Sales are down 40% and they still have two plant building them none stop. The minivan market is shrinking fast , it has very average gas milage ,the recession is forcing every body to ease up on spending large amounts of money, Jeep Commander never did really get of the ground with sales, gets 14 miles to the gallon were still making them. We put a Hemi in half of every thing we make. Chrysler got ride of the Neon, Pt cruser. You have a 5,500 rebate on Ram trucks , with a free Hemi of course. Three plant making those working Sarurdays overtime. Who is running this company?

The problem is that the R/T gets the poor mileage. With the 2.4L the car is seriously underpowered. The 2.4L GEMA engine has been criticized as being unrefined and harsh.

Maybe Chrysler will just shut down entirely for Q4 and send everyone home for a "european vacation".

The anti Chrysler circle jerk continues.

So let me ask, do you guys think a manufacturer is to change overnight? It doesn’t work like that.

C'mon Roadrunner, this whole Chrysler situation is a debacle and it was a travesty to bring in Nardelli to run an automaker after his tumultuous exit from Home Depot. Also, dropping $50 million on Jim Press while laying off tens of thousands of UAW workers and having no fuel efficient product in the pipeline is just plainly a poor decision.

Can you at least admit that in the past year they have done nothing but slash-n-burn as we expected? They got rid of some UAW workers, axed a few nameplates, took a bath on the Plastech fiasco, threw $50 million at an aging Toyota exec, and now they'll launch a thirsty new Ram?

In the meanwhile their minivans are in the tank.
