Chevy Accepts 600 hp Dodge Viper Challenge

You can't make the comment that with 100 more horsepower, the Viper should be faster than just a fraction of a second over the Vette.
There was an interesting show on once that wanted to test the Bugatti Veyron to see if it would actually get to 250 miles per hour. They did the test at Volkswagon's test track in Germany, which is a 40 mile oval. The driver was explaining some aerodynamics to the camera as he was doing the test. He said that it took approximately 262 horse power to get a car to 150 miles per hour. To get it to go an additional 100 mph (to reach 250mph) required an additional 700 HP.(The Veyron has 1001 HP). So just because a car has more horse power, don't think that it should be a lot faster. It's not a proportional thing.
Oh, if you're wondering, yes, the car did achieve 250 MPH. Watching the special precision speedometer that they rigged in the car slowly climb towards 250, the driver said that they only had a 5 mile straightaway on the track to reach 250, and that the tires would only last for 20 minutes at that speed. He said the full gas tank would run out in 13 minutes, so the tires should be okay. Of course, for a million dollars, it should be fast.

The Z06 is a good car for the track only, on the road it is useless. The tire roar is unbearable in a Vette and the Gear box in the Z06 is so heavy it feels like you are shifting a boulder. Most American cars are automatics, which means you have little experience of a proper manual gear stick. Paddle shifts are something you dont have much of either. Paddle shifts work on the track, but the manual stick shift is the best because you can get the maximum revs out the engine and select which gear you want when you want it.

Notice how NO GM fans are respoding to your comment? It is because its true and they have nothing to say. MOPAR was the king and still is. Instead of Ford or Chevy trying to build a worthy engine they tried to kick Mopar out of Nascar. Typical.
YOU ALL HAVE TO REALIZE, VIPERS ARE HANDBUILT, HEAVIER THAN CORVETTES, AND LESS AERODYNAMIC.
But it makes sense that you dont understand any of the above because you are GM fans.

I work at a Chevrolet dealership as a tech in the service department and have had the priviledge of driving several of the 7.0 505hp new Vette's. All I can say is wow, what an incredible machine. I would take one over a Viper any day. They ride better, handle better and feel lightning quick. Nothing has ever felt faster to me than the current Vette.

It also a shitload more money for the Viper wait for the Zr1 and the Viper won't touch it.

The Viper is not a shitload of more money. The Z06's price keeps going up and is now at 72K compared to the Viper 87K. Just 15K more. If the ZR1 only has 620hp and has gained weight. Dont think so.

I personally think the Corvette is better because it can keep up with the Viper and the Corvette uses a V8 while the Viper HAS to use 2 extra cylinders to beat it!!!!!! My point being that Chevy has produced more quality STREET cars than Dodge. But thats just my opinion, if you agree well then good but if you don't agree then just call me stupid but thats what I think.

Chevy is a joke. Most unreliable and overrated cars by pretty boys and high class cowboys who think theyre tough. Real trucks dont wear bowties

Chevy probably sells a hundred Corvettes for every Viper sold. At near 4 dollars a gallon, neither cars are an option for most people but the Corvette kills the Viper in MPG category. If I were made of money, I would love to have one of the new supercharged 6.2litre 600+hp model.

If you had 100 more horsepower you would get 700 horsepower.It goes 220 mph.It has 8.3 liter floiede.
