I started my 2.0L 5sp manual 98 Dodge Stratus this morning and the airbag and brake lights in the dash were on. I checked the E brake and it wasn't engaged so I thought it was some minor electrical thing, then I pushed in the clutch and it screeched like a wounded cat, but only when I pushed it all the way down. If I don't push it completely in then the car will go into gear so I went to drive it to my mechanic who is just 1/4 mile from here. I realized while driving there that my turn signals also were not working. The mechanic said the signal lights and dash lights were unrelated to the clutch noise and he said it was a throwout bearing. So I came home to get my stuff out of the car and checked the fuses to the signals and dash lights and the fuses were not blown. NOW THIS IS THE STRANGE PART. When I started it up like one hour later to take it back to the mechanic and leave it, the dash lights were out, the signals worked and the clutch is smooth and making no noise at all. I took it to the mechanic just to see what he thinks and he is amazed, said it is unbelievable and unexplainable. Here is my question: Is there any way that these things could have been caused by something electrical? A couple weeks ago I installed something that is using about 8 Amps, could that draw cause this problem? Please help me figure this out!
