I have a 2001 Ddg. Grand Caravan that has had headlight troubles for nearly two years. When you turn the van on, the right headlight lights. When you turn the headlights on, the left headlight lights. When you turn the brights on, the right headlight lights. Always, only one light. We have replaced about three different switches (info available if it will help) and we still can't seem to find the trouble.(No, it isn't the bulb). Has anyone else had trouble like this or do you have any ideas that could help us? This has gone on long enough. Even the dealer can't seem to find the trouble.
Thanks for anyone who can shed some light. |

We are having the same problem, however we also have running lights on the vehicle. One headlight works on one side only and the running light only on the other side. We have replaced switches also along with both bulbs. Can you please tell me what switches you have replaced. We already have approximately $150. into this problem?
Thank-you. |

Have you found a solution to this problem. I have the same thing. |

I bought my Caravan used in 2004 and I've had headlight problems since day one. I recently had my BCM checked. That isn't the problem. My headlights were at one time doing what yours do. They also go off, stay off for weeks, and then come back. Now I have no lights at all. Help! |

Obviously you have a wiring or relay problem.If you do not want to spend a fortune at the Chrysler dealer then I suggest you install a separate circuit with a dashboard switch and relay as you would do when installing fog lights.Do you have fog lights? Could they be the problem? Use the fog light circuit for your head lights. H.S. |

Hi Terry, I have, since last week, exactly the same problem. Did you fix it? If so, could you tell me how???? thanks! |

Ours are finally fixed after two years and four different mechanics. Believe it or not, it was the dealer that finally solved our problem.
I can't tell your right now what we tried before, but if you want to know, email me & I'll look it up. Here's what was done on August 22 this year and they are still working! "install sop PDC for headlight issue" that's listed on the workorder under labor. Under parts it says: "fp number 55102969-ab Block Non 8015009" That cost me about $300 parts & labor but it was worth it. I know it had something to do with the wires going in to the fuse box. If you want to email me, write to kidspets@hickorytech.net I hope this helps someone else. It was a long, two-year battle for us. Good luck! |

for the record, I have the exact same problem with the headlights on my 2001 Grand Caravan. Have been through the usual drill (replace lamps, switch, even front control module)- but will try the work order info you have provided.
fyi, called DaimlerChrysler - if they've received complaints about this, there aren't enough for them to take action. |

Thank you Colleen,
My dealer just found the problem. It was the FCM (Front Control module). It took only 30 minutes to find the solution. Now everything works fine. Cause my Grand Caravan (2003)is still on guarantee, it didn't cost me a coin. Hope it will help someone else... I'm gonna keep the info you sent, in case of... Marco Sorry for my poor written language, I'm french from Québec, so I tried to describe it correctly... |
||||
Marco, your posting is completely understandable! alas, they tried replacing the front control module on my caravan, but it didn't fix the headlight problem. |

Thank you Louise,
Unfortunately, the problem I had last week came back yesterday, four days after they have fixed it. I call the dealer this morning and I have a rendez-vous on wednesday afternoon. I will give you all, the results of what they, maybe, have found. I ask them to check with Daimler-Chrysler if they ever heard about this problem before my rendez-vous. À bientôt! |

Hi everyone,
The problem seems resolved. They changed the same part that Colleen told us in her sept 25 post. It's the fuse block # 05102969-ab. This time, everything seems ok . It cost me 473$(Cdn). Hope it will help somebody else. |

My headlamps on my 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport will flash from brights or dim to the daytime driving mode and then back to brights or dim again. Has anyone experienced this problem?
|
||||
|
Colleen or Marco, could you give me info on your dealer's name and phone number? I'd like to have my dealer call and discuss with them, to see if replacing the fuse block could fix my problem as well - if they got the same diagnostic codes.
thanks! |
||||
|
Hi Louise,
My dealer is N.V. Cloutier in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada I can't give you the phone # according with the "terms of service of this forum" ask for Jean Nadeau of service department. Probabaly, it will be easier for your dealer to have the Colleen's dealer name because the diagnostics # in Canada may not be the same. The Colleen's info certainly help my dealer to find the problem. I gave them the info Colleen gave us in her last post. To Neil, fortunately, I didn't experience this problem... Thanks |
||||
|
I have that same problem. I'll try getting that fuse block fixed too and let you know...
