Is anyone else having a problem when they fill their Durango with gas? The pump will kick off as normal and a millisecond later (just about when you are reaching for the nozzle) gas comes shooting out the pipe. I have taken it to the dealer and they say that Chrysler is aware but they don't have a "fix" for it.

I have a 2005 Durango. This happens to my husband every time he pumps the gas. But whenever the gas is pumped by a gas attendant, it's fine. Strange, I'm not sure what they do different. I'm from Jersey, so I don't pump gas!!!

We had the same problem (2005 Durango)- checked recall notices & there have been some recalls on this problem. We went to the nearest dealer & they advised us our vehicle was not included in this recall. We called Chrysler & to make a long story short, they agreed to replace the gas tank & we paid a $100.00 deductible. Do not know if problem is fixed as yet because the first time we tried to fill, it did the opposite - just after half full the pump kicked off, & kept doing that. Tried to fill again at a different station & pump, but same thing happened. Took it back to the dealer. They now say it needs a new charcoal canister & that it is not related to the original problem, nor could it be something they caused to happen - what are the odds of another fueling problem immediately following?? Cost will be about $160. to fix. Not happy with the dealer & Chrysler. Anyone else with similar experience?

There is an official recall on this issue for ALL 2005 Durangos. Had mine fixed after being rejected. I notified Chrysler Corp as well as the NHSTA to complain. Got mine fixed pronto!
