I just purchased an 04 durango limited. 5.7 hemi...I like it very much. Going to the gas station every second or third day kinda sucks. very comfortable and roomy. if you are on the tall side....I recommend not getting any running boards...they are very much a pain in the ass. if you have any questions let me know.

From the sounds of it, 2004 durangos have some serious electrical issues. I bought mine in Dec. and I've had a ton of problems with it

Kelly, I've noticed that if I have anything in the passenger seat like a bag of groceries and the seatbelt isn't fastened...the Airbag lite will come on from time to time. Just a thought.

The airbag light goes on when you place anything that weighs between 2 lbs and 10 lbs on the front passenger seat. This means that the airbag is deactivated and will not work. This was done so people don't place their babies on the from passenger seat (yes, people do that!). There is nothing wrong with you vehicle unless the light never shuts off... then you need a new sensor.

Hope that helps!

I bought a used 2004 dodge durango in feb. 2009. I love everything about this truck, the room, the smooth ride, radio and CD work perfectly. I love the body style. The truck ran like a dream until I went to go out today and when I put the key in the ignition it didn't start. The lights come on but all the truck does is make a single tick sound. Can anyone tell me what I'm in for when I put it in the shop to be repaired as to what the problem might be? I'm totally in love with this truck but I'm frustrated since I haven't even had it long enough to make my first payment yet.

If you have any weigh in the passenger seat and the seat belt is not buckled this will happen. I used to throw my laptop on the passenger seat and the airbag light would come on intermittantly.

I think it's to do with the weight limit for the air bag. The light comes on if the person is under a certain limit (like a child) to prevent the airbag from going off on a child

Anyone out there have any issues with your EGR valve? Vehicle stalling, perhaps putting you in a unsafe situation (driving through town and steering is lost because your SUV has stalled.) Maybe it should be reported to NHTSA, to make them aware of the problem with EGR valves and the safety concern.

Have you tried to see whether you have an engine code? Turn the ignition on/off approx. 3 times and look at the odometer, it may give you a code.
When you lose power, does this happen when your foot is lefted from the gas pedal? The code I pulled from mine was 0404 , which indicated EGR valve.

I would check the battery. If it is oem it is past time for replacement. Had the same thing with my 04, started always and one day just click, no warning. Replaced battery and all is well.

does the light stay on. if so on your glove compartment you have the air bag box that comes on when the car is started then goes off, if you have the air bag light staying on in the cluster area, replace the the light bulb which is behind that square box on were the glove compartment is, i took my car to my mech it took him 10 min to pop it open, if you do it yourself be careful, if that dont work take it to a mech, you have sensor's under both frot seats.. good luck

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Gemini

Mercury will backtrack through your finances over the next few weeks, which isn't a very seasonal thought if you're already well aware that you've overspent this month. Be prepared to do some juggling or to seek expert advice if you're worried about how you're going to cope. You may be kept busy handling inheritance, tax or insurance matters, preparing investment analysis, and allocating funds for the repayment or collection of debts.
