1999 Dodge Dakota 4x4 5.2 L, Fuel pump issues. The fuel pump works when I hook it up to a battery, however when I hook it up to the truck & turn the key the pump does not energize?? When cranking the engine the pump does not energize. I checked all of the wire, their seems be no shorts, checked the fuses & relays, they are all good. If I pore fuel into the throttle body the engine will run. Used a fault code reader, misfire was the only code. No I am tring to figure out if the computer is telling the fuel pump not to energize. What sensors would stop the computer from giving the pump power before it start??

I have 1995 Dodge Dakota 5.2L V8 5 speed 2wd, makes a single click noise when I try to start it. It won't turn over at all. Fuel pump and battery are brand new. Could it be the starter?

Hello,
I just bought a 1990 Dodge Dakota Sport 4x4 5-Speed, there is only one problem, it only starts sometimes, if i go to start it from sitting a while it starts up fine. But if it has been run and shut of it wont restart. The truck runs great when i get it running but i dont know what the problem is. Please Help!
Thanks!
Did you figure this out? I really need an answer for this. Mine does the same thing on a 94. Its not the wire under the relay box nor the ecu. I have checked the pickup and done a full tune up. My problem is controlled by the ECU. Truck gets warmed up and then wont restart (randomly but worse in hot weather). I hear a very high pitched sound coming from the ecu when the truck will not start. If I keep listening I can hear a click sound in the relay box or somewhere thereabouts and the high pitch sound stops. It requires that the engine cool a bit before it will click off. After that the truck will fire up no problem.
If anyone has an idea please please email me at justsmarter@gmail.com I would love to find an answer to this. Thanks

Check your grounds and then smack your starter with a hammer while somebody else tries to start it. It could be your start yes but it could be allot of things.

I figured this out finally! I had the codes read which pointed me to a crankshaft position sensor which made complete sense. Turned out to actually be the harness to the CPS but the sensor would have done the same thing. Hope this helps someone.

Daily Horoscope for December 21

Taurus

If you're a typical Taurean you value both your emotional and physical security, and often tend to restrict your actions accordingly. But during the coming month you'll need to spread your wings more widely than usual, whether through mental or physical pursuits. It will do you good to be more adventurous for a change, and to embrace life in all its aspects.
