Chrysler needs to remain a stand alone company.
Their needs to be a CEO put in that KNOWS the car industry and has Chryslers best interest first and foremost. Daimler gutted Chrysler and I think Fiat will be the final death blow to Chrysler. |

I agree with you. Chrysler needs to be a stand alone company. Daimler raped Chrysler, and so will Fiat. Fiat,s, motive is to get a foothold in the American market. Once they have this, they will probably sell Chrysler off, piece, by piece. |

it is unfortunate that Obama feels the need to dictate how the big three conduct business, but if his people are telling him that the Fiat deal must go through, then guess what? we really have nothing to say about it, the UAW, if we want the cash to stay afloat. sad truth

Fiat does not have any plants in the US, so I don't think they will sell-off Chrysler. However, they will probably become the sole owners.

Chrysler sucks! There employers have such nasty attitudes it is sad that they are the reason why Chrysler is going to die. If you need help they have very bad attitudes and not willing to help in anyway, and this is from the manager down to the simple rep. God has his hand in this and everything done in the dark comes to the light. Chrysler has been a nasty company to deal with before Daimler. Anyone that you ask about Chrysler will tell you that Chrysler is a nasty company to deal with. Word of mouth is the best advertisement. I had one vehicle from Chrysler with a 60 month loan. I paid off the loan in 24months due to I did not want to deal with them period!

1 After reading your posts what does it matter? Anyone who has something negative, no matter how true it is you call them a troll. Maybe you should go back to college and get a marketable job skill. Then you wouldn't be crying all the time! |

1 Fiat has been idling about half of its 78,000 workforce in Italy through temporary state-subsidized layoff programs. Sales at the Italian carmaker, which is poised to take a stake in Chrysler LLC, fell 16 percent in Italy in the first quarter, data from carmaker association ANFIA show. __________ So tell me WHY Obama is FORCING Chrysler to "merge" with Fiat. |

1 I myself am definitely a car guy who has over the years built up a select collection with Ferraris, FIATs, Alfas and Lancias. Yes I am an Italian car guy. Then I have 2 daily drivers, one is a Honda Civic Si (perfect car) and a Nissan Maxima. The Honda never has issues, the Nissan many in the form of recalls. Nissan is a shitty organization (incl. dealers) in the USA. My old cars are a joy. Among the old cars is a perfect FIAT 500 (1971) that I drive almost daily (56 miles to the gallon on average). Todays FIATs are superb (500, Grande Punto and Multipla) and run -- in the bipower versions -- on natural gas without problems for hundreds of thousands of miles (according to my Dutch and Italian friends who own them). I cannot wait any longer to see the new 500 come to the USA and I will buy 2, one for my son and one to replace the Civic Si ! Whether FIAT will help Chrysler on the short term? I doubt it ! On the longer term ? Yes (most likely)! |

1 It's a global crisis with all companies experiencing huge sales drops. If Fiat is only down 16% in the first quarter then they're ahead of the game. Reduced sales globally are causing all the companies to burn through cash reserves. |

Obama is not forcing a merger with "Fiat". He doesn't think Chrysler will make it as a stand alone Co. It just so happened that Fiat's on the platter, could have been any car co. |
