Early Look At Fiat And Chrysler's U.S. Model Roll Out

Caliber, Nitro, Avenger, Commander, Compass, Patriot, PT Cruiser and Sebring are out. The Cinquecento (Fiat 500), Alfa Romeo Milano and Giulia are in. It seems that all that Chrysler is keeping from the old lineup are the 300 and the Cherokee. If I ever return to the States I would consider gettin a Milano or a Giulia...

Are you military? My son in law in Navy. Deployed to Beirut, thats why I ask..(emm3 just looks like a military status)

Thanks. Actually, Bangkok and Waldkirchen in rural Bavaria. I do consulting work in Asia and we live part-time in Europe, part in Germany and a minor part in New Orleans. Need to keep out of the country enough, lest the tax man cometh.

I think Jeep has the strongest chance of survival of all the Chrysler brands, because it is such an icon throughout the world. That will be the last thing they will pull the plug on, although they are paring down teh lineup as well.

Jeep isn't going anywhere. In fact, they are going to be exported bigtime. They are working on building for the Military also.

Toyota 4x4s are better vehicles than Jeeps.

I was referring to the Wrangler. I have not read that it is being phased out. I could not find the article I was looking for but here are a couple. Guess we'll find out tomorrow. I agree about the WAR part.

According to this article Jeep is increasing International Sales. I sure hope they don't scrap the Wrangler. That would be a major mistake.

Chrysler needs to decide whether they are building SUVs for soccermoms and fat American couch potatoes to drive them to the grocery store, or if they are building a real 4x4. Sorry but this looks like a soccer-mom-mobil. Whatever remaining appeal the Cherokee had until now, was that it still looked like an off-road vehicle. Now it looks like Chrysler in their infinite wisdom is changing that. If I wanted a cross-over vehicle I would go get a Subaru Outback, Audi A6 Allrad or a Skoda Octavia. Not this.

Either build offroaders or build cars. Is the next step is putting 21" shiny ghetto wheels on it with low profile tires? Or, maybe Marchione thinks he can attract the whoring industry and sell it en masse to pimps....:)

Doctors and Lawyers love them! I just hope they keep buying them. I like the sporty type but I didn't like the rough ride my daughter's Wrangler had.

I believe your correct about the Jeep product(s). I'm alittle partial figuring I was born and raised in Jeep Country, and have grown up to respect the product and all it has done for our community. We're hearing the Liberty (Cherokee for overseas) will be going strong, along with our world known Wranglers as we attack the global market, but we'll see....
