my rear brakes have developed a trait of usually working fine. But if not used for a few days or sometrimes if it rains. the brakes grab severely, shakes the truck and slides the right rear wheek . i do not feel any pull in the steering wheel. anybody got any suggestions? I replaced both front calipers, and both rear shoes, neither one helped. hope you have fixed this before!

it's your rear wheels, why would you feel it in the steering wheel? some are prone to be grabby when wet. it clears up after the first couple of stops? jack it up, pull off both rear wheels and drums, check to see where your adjusters are out to. take your drums to a place that cuts drums and have them measure them for wear. if they are too worn to turn buy new ones. when installing the drums, with the parking brake off, you need to turn the adjusters out until you feel a light drag on the drum. adjust both sides like that then take 5 clicks off, they should turn freely then. this will have you very close to where they should be adjusted to.

Old school: Once you get the adjusters where you like them, put everything back together. Find a long clear stretch of driveway, and back up at a good speed. Then get into the "binders". Do this a few times, and the brakes will be set properly.

By the way, DO NOT USE cheap shoes. Semi-Mets or full mets ONLY. Some of the "rebuilds" coming in from mexico have been showing a lot of porosity, or moisture absorbance, which leads to steam build up and fracuring when they get too warm. Bad/wrong material. Not picking on anyone, just what has been observed.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Leo

The atmosphere is highly combustible today, with people getting in a stew over the smallest little thing. You will also have a tendency to get hot under the collar, especially if someone isn't doing things as quickly as you'd like. Try to stop yourself getting in a rage because once that happens it will be difficult to cool down again. Maybe you need some fresh air?
