This afternoon my '96 Blazer ran out of gas on a steep downgrade. I put three gallons in the tank, and then turned the ignition switch on and let it sit for a minute or two before trying to start it, thinking the fuel pump needs to send gas to the engine before I try cranking it. The engine turns over fine, but it just won't fire, and it seems like it isn't getting any gas. After a few tries, the 'check gauges' light came on, and I noticed the fuel gauge shows empty or has quit working. Do I need to put more than three gallons in the tank to get it going again, or do I have a more serious problem?
Thanks in advance for any help.

probably a clogged fuel filter sucked in at the bottom of the tank. replace filter and try again.

How do you get to the #2,4,6 spark plugs? What do you have to move or unbolt?

My son ran his 2000 blazer of gas. We changed the fuel pump and filter. It will start for about 3 seconds then die. We checked the security light in the car like a mechanic told to and that was fine. ANY IDEAS???

I forgot my Mazda MPV running.(It was very cold outside...so I was warming up the engine.) An hour later it was out of gas...and had dead battery. The next day I put in 5 gallons of gas, and tried to jumpstart it. I even tried to charge the battery. The MPV did nothing. The headlights do turn on, but not the interior lights. The ignition does not even make a clicking sound when I turn the key. Do you have any ideas as to what the problem could be ?
