WHY DONT THEY GO AHEAD AND CLOSE THE PLANT. THEY SPENT MILLIONS ON THE PLANT TO GET IT OPEN, BUT THEY KEEP SHUTTING IT DOWN FOR WEEKS,MONTHS. STUPID THEY SHOULD HAVE NEVER OPENED OR THEY SHOULD CLOSE SOME PLANTS IN MICHIGAN AND MOVE THE CARS TO SPRING HILL. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN BECAUSE THE STATE OF MICHIGAN HAS A GOVERNOR WHO IS TRYING TO KEEP THE PLANTS UP AND RUNNING. TN.GOV ERNOR IS PISSED OFF BECAUSE A REPUBLICAN DID NOT BECOME PRESIDENT. THE WHOLE PLANT CLOSING DEAL IS ALL ABOUT POLITICS

Thats true Bubba. I recently purchased a 2008 Chevy Malibu from Alexander and I love the car and I was happy to help them get rid of old inventory.

1 My Toyota was built right here in the good ole USA, BUBBA!!! I bought it used, paid cash and in the process helped a fellow American out of debt. Can you say that? Doubt it. But my buying a Toyota or a Honda has nothing to do with GM or Ford, or anyone else going under. Their going under because people can't afford to buy new cars or make payments on the one they have when they should not have bought it along with that $200,000 $400,000 house they bought. I am a proud American and am grateful to live in a country where I have the liberty to buy what I want without be judged!!! |

spring hill and orion mi plant and one other are possible plants to stay open. one of the plants are going to get the new small car. I would thin with all the money they put into spring hill they would keep it open. for orion to get the new small car they will have to put alot of money into it to retool the plant. Orion has to have a new paint shop let alone stripping the plant to bring a new car in. i dont see orion getting it. although i hope we do. good luck to all our gm workers out there that are loosing thier jobs.

Tell me, do you people at these plants have a union? What is the average wage per worker?

I just heard the Spring Hill plant is going to be "idled". I have heard it has recently been retooled and started calling people back. It seems to be the newest of the GM facilities and would logically be more automated. If i were to choose where to build a new model of car, The youngest automated facility would be my choice.

When GM (or Ford) will build a gasoline car which gets 40mpg, is trouble free, rides good, looks good and is priced right, then I'll be the first on the block to buy it. Until then, I'm happy with my American made Civic. People buying autos from foreign owned companies has nothing to do with GM going down the drain. GM's business model, and their unions, is the problem. As for Spring Hill, I feel for the community. It's a shame that a quiet, peaceful community has been overtaken by industry, only to watch it fall.

Well Bubba Communist countries? Japan is Socialist NOT Communist and Toyota whether it is made in Japan, USA, Mexico and even the Moon is better quality than a GM, Ford, or Chrysler built ANYWHERE!!!
