im having a problem when i drive my traction control kicks on for no reason. took it to the dealership twice and they reprogrammed it both times and still is doing the same thing. so now my warranty is up and they are telling me if it needs more than just reprogramming i might have to pay for it. now i just turn the traction control off when i start the car but my brakes lock up on me once in a while and dobbs said it was because of the traction control. if anyone has any info or knows what the problem is please responsed thanks.

your trac control is intergated with your hub bearings my stabilaty system went out so i just changed my hub bearings and it was fixed i have a 02 escalade 6.0 and it also happend with my 97 deville concourse switched the hub bearings and its fixed check it out

I’ve been having the exact same problem. I have to manually turn off the traction control every time I drive my Escalade. If I don’t my “stability system disabled” light comes on or the “traction active” light comes on. My dealer was also unable to fix the problem and I was unwilling to pay for a repair that was not made. It’s been a great vehicle but this problem has been more than annoying. It’ s simply ridiculous. I’ll have to have my hub bearing checked out!

Problem solved, replaced wheel bearing assembly (Hub) Thanks for the help The hub wiring shorts out ittermittently as the bearing wears

Im having problems 08 escalade, says "service stability system". it basically a new vehicle, do you think i have to change the hubs, if so is there a way to check to see if the wiring in the hub is grounded.

My traction control kicks on for no reason at slow speeds making it very unsafe to accelerate from a dead stop. Dealer re-programed, but still having the problem. I will try wheel bearing assembly (hub).

It very hard for a tech person to diagnose without having the ability to check each sensor independently. |

I just had the hubs replaced and it seems to have resolved the problem, thanks for the information.

I recently didn't have any lights and when I replaced a bad hub assembly, the service stability light soon came on after.

Actually, to be more specific, the light didn't come on til 2 days later when I took off my 24in rims and put on the stocks ones.

It's possible, if your 2008 has high mileage, The dealer has a scan tool, but dosen't always detect which one is bad. Your vehicle still covered by the Factory Warranty? |

I have '07 same problem "service stability system" and after that showed "stabiltrack traction control" error. I have no warranty since Cadillac warranty are sucks they never see any problem with vehicle till warranty ends. what may cause this problem ?
I feel little loose on steering wheel , and I know that I must replace rear shocks for sure soon (front shocks just replaced) besides of that everything is perfect condition. |
