Just think of all the new careers they will get with the "Life Skills" training that the Employment Department gives; the only training at all (How to smile while wearing a Wal-mart tag and earning minimum-wage). Good luck finding a job with that on your resume.

GM has finally realized that they are a dinosaur and cant compete with the business plan that americans will buy american cars no matter how bad they are.
Even if they do come out with the Volt, its way too late ( end of 2010) and way too expensive ($40k), and will probably be no better than the Vega ( original disposable car).
bet they dont cut out any executive positions! betweeen them and the union there is an agreed upon plan for failure.

GM should focus its efforts on producing flex fuel vehicles, electric cars, and in the interim; plug-in hybrids that get 100 mpg or more rather than 45 mpg. Eventually car makers will have to produce flex fuel vehicles because the day of the motor vehicle having only one power/fuel supply system is over given the catastrophic consequences and skyrocketing prices associated with depending on only one energy resource.

makes you wonder how Japanese manufacturers figured that they needed to do these things a few years ago and GM just decided after their sales went into the toilet for a few months.GM is international, prices in europe have been over double ours for a few years, I guess that explains why they didnt sell well in europe.
