I agree - this is not exactly GWB fault. However, I remember the last year, when 3 big ones went to Washington to get support, Bush' public answer was: "let's Detroit start producing better cars". Even if he might be right, I can't imagine any other head of state to blast any industry important to their nation. At least if you can't/don't want to help do not harm. GW Bush has definitely a different measure for his favorite oil industry then for that far-far away Detroit.
