BMW E39 Dashboard Lights

Hi can some tell me what the following light means, it is displayed on my dashboard, on my BMW523i SE. The symbol is a triangle with an exclmation mark inside it and it has a arrow going around the triangle towards the left. This light came on today as I was driving.

Yeah, most likely its an issue with the ABS system. However its not necessary your ABS unit, it could just be a wheel sensor. Here in the US, that runs about $120 parts,$100 labor.

Its called the ASC(DSC) Indicator light, One of the cause it light up is the wheel speed sensors. Have your car diagnosed with a GT1 by an authorized BMW Dealer.

Sometimes, if replacing the wheel speed sensor do not correct the fault, the ABS pump assy should be replaced.

I strongly recomment to have it diagnosed using the GT1 to get the fault stored in the control unit itself and get much accurate recommendation.

I have a BMW 323 shows a exclamation mark circled next to d for overdrive, what does that mean? Any help

I have a bmw 325ci with an exclamation mark circled next to the P on the dashboard. It only apperas when the cars is in park and disappears as soon as I drive. Know what it is?

it's a traction control light. it warns whenever the system is turned on and the car senses a loss of traction. you can deactivate the system by pushing the dsc button and holding. this light will illuminate to say: you may lose traction. read your owners manual.

I'm always amazed how few people take 5 minutes to read the manual.

if someone is asking the question they probably don't have the manual.

I wouldn't assume that. I think a lot of people just never think to look in the manual.

It means the brake pads are worn down. If you take it into a shop with bmw diagnostic equipment, they should be able to tell you whether it is the front or back set (you should *always* replace them in pairs). I've changed mine myself, but found its really not worth the effort. Just take it to a shop.

I had the same problem. Just replace the ABS sensors on both sides. costs around £30 to fix if you do it yourself.

My E39 dashboard cluster has failed. No instruments are working. Start up check lights and fuel warning sensor working OK. Any ideas ??

i need help. i have a 1999 bmw e39 528i manual. i needed brakes so i just changed them to brembo rotors and hawk pads front and back, after replacing them the abs light came on the traction light came on and alzo the check engine light.
the o2 sensors are new, and the abs sensors are cleaned up, is it possible that a speed sensor is causing the abs the traction and the check engine light to go on. keep in mind this car never had any lights on.

I have a bmw 318 IS and every time I drive the ABS light comes on but not until I get halfway to where Im going. Can anyone explain?

I have a 1997 318is. While I am driving it feels like the car slips to a lower gear at speeds 90km and lower. When I stop it stalls and will sometimes remain running after reving the crap out of it then stalls as soon as i put it into drive. Would anyone have an idea what this could possibly be before i pay out of my a__to find out whats wrong with it? Your help would be greatly appreciated at this point. Thanks in advance.

I have a 325i-2003 the ABS light(a triangle with an exclmation mark inside it and it has a arrow going around the triangle towards the left) turned on and also the brake light is turns on in yellow. I had a diagnostic and I was told that nothing was wrong with the ABS system that was just the sensor that was not working properly. I need to deactivate those lights, does anyone know how???
