All this hoopla by Root is just a bunch of unadulterated crap.
There was only one automaker as a corporate sponsor of the US Olympic Team.
It wasn't GM, Ford, or Chrysler.
It was BMW.
One automaker supported a part of the Olympic Team (Swimmers) by providing a hospitality center.
That was Toyota.
Arguing about any of this is a waste of time, and quite frankly, stupid.

I am very glad that you finally said that. Toyota did not support the US Team. BMW did, toyota did not. Now we can move forward. Thank you.

I believe on tbhe face of evidence that Toyota did provide support.
Most folks with any brains would consider what Toyota provided to the US Swim Team as a form of support.
Root obviously does not agree.
Not unexpected, considering the source, plus the well known bias there.

Speaking of "moving forward", most folks would consider that as meaning to treat all automakers equally.
Obviously Root sees "moving forward" as just another opportunity to promote his bias against Toyota.
I consder that as sick.

I donít have bias against any maker. I found this topic and agreed with it. Toyota did not support the US team. BMW did but Toyota did not. I read the topix and when I saw this one I researched it and confirmed the only maker that supported the US team was BMW. That's it.

When I read the above post by Root, my Bullshyt Alarm went off the scale and almost broke a few springs.
What a crock!!!
Does this guy expect anyone to believe that???

Needless to say, it's clear poor old Root is hopelessly immersed in fantasyland.
Sadly, we're seeing more than one personna under Root's authorship, and he's doing everything he can to paint Toyota as the evil empire for all to see.
At the same time his audience is quite small---only a half dozen people visit this site regularly.
Newcomers are quickly discouraged by the nonsense.

IMO Root will continue to delude himself in his twisted fantasy that he's accomplishing something.(Whatever that is!!)
Truth is nobody's listening.

To put an end to this stupid controversy!!

Olympic Sponsors are selected only by the Olympic Committee.
No sponsor can arbitrarily provide support without approval of the Olympic Committee.
Olympic Committee policy allows only one sponsor from each industry category.
For example, Nike was the only footware sponsor allowed, just as BMW was the only automotive sponsor allowed.
BMW was selected because the Olympics were held in a European country, thus the Olympic Committee wanted a European automotive sponsor.
That's why Toyota, nor any other automaker were not allowed to be a sponsor.

Anyone trying to smear Toyota for not being a sponsor is a liar.

Just as long as you admit just like you did earlier that toyota did not support the US team.

Toyota did not sponsor the US Team because they weren't allowed to.
But Toyota did support the US Swim Team.
That qualifies as support.
End of story.

Your big problem is self deception.
The evidence proves you wrong.
You'll just have to learn to deal with it.

And while your at it, learn some maturity.

Follow Your Lead??
Leading by a failure isn't leadership.
The first responsibility of a leader is to define reality.
You failed that simple test long ago by denying it.
Chameleons like you, by definition, aren't leaders.
They're just morally bankrupt and narcissistic fools.
