My pick is the Toyota 22RE 4 cyl engine that came in the 1980,90's toyota trucks.

Those things ran for ever.

Toyota 22R motor as well as Yamaha SHO V6 in the Taurus. The Nissan 3.0L V6 runs forever as well. Now the Honda 3.5L SOHC VTEC is good for 500K miles.

My last 2 trucks and the one I drive now have the good ol' 350 vortec. All 3 passed 200k, no problems. The toyota 22r is a great engine, but the small trucks they put them in all fell apart around the bulletproof drivetrain. The honda v-tecs from the late 80s through 90s really went the long haul too.

Ford motors.

That company beat Ferrari (Lemans)with a heavier and slower car (GT40), and with old-fashioned non-overhead cam technology from passenger car/truck engines. How? Their engines that did not break (as often) as their competitors (including Porsche).

Ford makes the most reliable engines. Perhaps their best: model T, straight 6 (1960s), flathead v-8, and 351 windsor. The 260/289 v-8 deserves honourable mention as well.

Ford pretty much owns the race record books. The 1964 Thunderbolt (a clunky Fairlane) still considered the fastest production car of all time.

Old volvos yes, i agree. Ford has since polluted Volvo and I don't know that it has the respect it once used to. Some Ford POS share the volvo platform and maybe even some engines.Volvo Credibility has certainly taken a hit.

One more thing Ford ruined.
I hear Mazda wants to get away from ford now- I don't blame them.

Daily Horoscope for November 23

Gemini

You may have to take a trip at a moment's notice, so don't let the unexpected jangle your nerves. Look at the day as an adventure, and welcome unexpected twists and turns. The Twins have been far too predictable lately and could use a change of pace, anyway. Those of you who end up staying planted in terra firma could find yourself on a journey of the mind, as philosophical debate turns into an intellectual adventure!
