Correction – GM *will* put the Converj into production. Kudos to GM as it should offset cost to the Volt. I just hope thy keep the look of the original concept. I bet all the little foreign panty pounders hate this news. You can’t keep a good American down.

Cadillac can't even build a good car with an gasoline engine and they've been working on that for 100 years, how the heck will they build and electric one?

Cadillac can't build a car where the bumper don't fall off! How will they build something that runs on a battery?

I work with a guy that has a 1996 cadillac with 206,000 miles and still looks and runs like new.

But then again He does take care of his vehicles.

Imports are just recycled junk... end of story

Cadillac can't build a car whose bumper don't fall off. Face it, the only battery going into a Cadillac will be the lead-acid battery used to start its tired motor.

GM just snatched the hybrid apple pie from Toyota. Watch and learn. Toyota can only offer parallel hybrids, GM’s offerings are the next step in technology, that being series hybrids. A Converj or a Volt will allow Americans to drive to and from work everyday, recharge the car overnight at the cost of about one US dollar, and never visit a gas station again. Environmentalist will eat this up like a Canadian at a homosexual brothel. I lead the way and you will follow.

Funny, we all know that "GM" and "hyrid" cannot be used in the same sentence outside of a comedy routine.

The next step in hybrid technology will be 2011 model year when Toyota launches a reliable mass-produced hybrid with the lithium ion battery pack.

GM's attempt to label vehicles as "hybrids" by having a belt alternator starting system was a joke, and the market laughed.

Incorrect, hindsight is 20/20. Toyota clearly failed to master new technology, rather opting to reinvent the past due to cost cutting.
The Japanese pie will be replaced by the Japanese hair pie in due time. You will concede that Americans have trumped the yesterday technology of prius with the Volt & Converj.

I believe that reliable mass produced product with the lithium ion battery is in the works and will launch in 2011.
Regardless of any denial by others, the truth is that Toyota is way ahead of the game in hybrid technology.
I believe Honda is a close second as well.

PS--As I told you earlier,(that you will be goaded into a pissing match), it's happening as you can no doubt see.
This is very typical whenever someone like you attempts to engage in a reasonable and objective discussion.
My advice to you at this stage is "don't get sucked in"---it will result in a pointless exercise and a complete waste of time.

Toyota has a few things that no other manfucturer has such as: a manufacturing system to build hybrids in mass quantity (not 40K a year), a proven supplychain of hybrid components, and the marketing juggernaut of having so much success.

At this point, it will take much more than some "PIE in the SKY" technology to unearth Toyota.

Remember, GM had the technology years ago with the EV1 and we saw how that turned out! So much for "leapfrogging" the competition when the market isn't ready for it.

The fact remains, GM hasn't been able to build a reliable "normal" automobile, and they expect the public consumers to have faith that they can build a car with "new technology". I, for one, am already laughing at the bad joke.

Correction, he has already “sucked” you in and unfortunately you don’t even know what we’re talking about.

Back on topic, you need to learn the difference between parallel and series.

Lay in wait as the toy falls from fictional grace.
