About time,..............not everyone wants a mustang or vette,.......enough said,...

This whole segment is already dead with fuel prices heading to $5/gallon. I know, I know...there's a few thousand out there who will pay anything to drive one of these. But after the initial interest, sales will take a nosedive, and Chrysler will start putting the 2.7L V6 and 4-speed auto in the thing, and before you know it the thing will be on the rental lot as a "special car". Just look at the Mustang.

Dead?? All 6400 08 units are already sold. If you want one you have to order a 09 next year. Again just goes to show that you know nothing. Not everyone is a sissy penny pinching Toyota sellout. Link http://www.kansascity.com/438/story/612368.ht... |

Read my post you goochlicker. I said after initial interest. Take a look at the Mustang. That had a couple years of strong sales and now its down 40% or more. The Challenger will be like the last Pontiac GTO, it'll be cool for a couple years and then they'll be giving them away. I can't wait for Chrysler to drop in the 2.7L and 4-speed slushbox so I can rent one from National. |

Wow....6400 units! That's about enough sales to pay 50% of the body panel stamping dies. Maybe another 6400 sales will help pay for the marketing and advertisement costs. Eventually they may sell enough to pay for Jim Press' signing bonus! Leave it to Chrysler to be launching a hotrod despite having no competitive small cars. |

Googhlicker.LOL That is a good one, coming from a turncoat, it does not mean much. As far as the Challenger, you really should have no interest in this auto, it is a mans car, not for sissy Toyota boys. You just keep counting those pennies and adding your fuel mileage, leave the muscle cars to the men. |

I'm sure you'll be the sucker driving the 2.7L with the 4-speed slushbox. Just like you have the 4.2L V6 F-150 XL pickup truck. |

Just think that truck alone outsells the Tundra.. Sorry try a 2008 4X4 crew cab Lariat SD F-250 with the twin turbo diesel. I am not into the retro car thing. So I would never own any of them, with any engine at that. I like the GT500, but again it is just not my thing. Looking at the 09 1/2 MKS with the Eco boost. That's more my speed.. |

Maybe so, however why not let them build a reduced number and provide a vehicle to a niche market? Don’t degrade it just for the reason it doesn’t fit your schematic or approval. At last check your stub doesn’t say Chrysler Corp. Dude, let them build it. Sure it wont sell a lot. I bet does WAY outsells the GTO. At any rate, rock on. One thing that you have to consider, Chrysler builds cars with style. They are unique and have personality. Not many companies can achieve this. Do their sales suffer? Of course they do. On another note, thank you Chrysler for building outside the box. Screw the conformation of a one world car. |
