Ford F150 saw a sales decline of 24% for the month of March 2008. The perennial sales leader is facing a sales crisis and layoffs are abundant here in Sonora Mexico.

Hmmm that is funny, the F-150 is made in
Kentucky, why would that cause layoffs in Mexico??. The F -150 in Mexico is not not the same as here in the States the upgraded version on the F150 is called the LOBO, the regular version is the old style 150 only available in Mexico.

People are waiting for the 09 F150. I am sure Toyota is going to steal the side and tailgate steps. Toyota has pretty much stolen everything from America, including our good paying jobs.

I am talking about suppliers to the F150 built in Dearborn and Kentucky, not line assembly jobs. I just left a wiring harness supplier who has plenty of open capacity.

Rest assured that people are not holding out for the 2009 model which is nothing but a "warm makeover" of a poorly designed and executed vehicle as evidenced by its loss of market share in the past few years.

I see Ford paid its CEO and top execs about $60 million last year so F150 sales could tank by 24%. LOL....silly Ford

Every brand of trucks were down double digits moron, maybe you noticed it is a recession??. Toyota sold a whopping thousand more trucks from the previous March WOW. But Tacoma sold three thousand less than Morch of 07. At least Ford pays it's people, rather than Toyota's ethic of "TEMP" employees and slave labor. But Toyota builds more cars in Japan and Canada so I guess it does not matter.

Sorry, but the entire truck segment isn't down 25% as evidenced by the 16.8% increase in YoY March sales for the Tundra.

The issue here is with Ford paying its executives $60 million in compensation while they beat the UAW into a two-tier wage structure and then lose market share at an alarming rate. Even Gettlefinger is blasting, and I mean BLASTING, Ford management over this scenario and they will be having a proxy vote.

Good luck....Ford is a boat anchor.

That's 14K less F150's sold you hero. I wonder how the absorption rate is looking at the Ford plants when their sales are down 24% (33% for Exploder). I see massive layoffs coming for Ford. They have no good powertrains and their leadership is a joke.

I don't think the 09 redesign is drastic enough style wise, and certainly not evolutionary in terms of powertrain, to attract more buyers. Ford has decided to soldier it out with the crusty old "Triton" V8's that lack the power density and refinement of their competition.

West Virgina??? Can you even spell truck. I thought that most people in West Virgina still ate with their hands and feet. I am really surprised that people there could even afford a truck of any kind..
