Rice is one of the top in the world, it is closley connected to NASA, so that's OK. Texas A&M at 17 with the top vet school. We're fine with that. They're not really doing anything at MIT or anywhere else that they're doing at southern universities. But go on with your unknowledgeable stance. If we do secede, you'll find that you need us a hell of lot more than we need you. Bundle up! I'm curious...how does a state that teaches and esposes creationism ( a religious belief) alongside or in place of evolution (the foundation of all physical sciences) develop scientists unless they welcome foreign students and students from more enlightened parts of the USA. A bright promising Texas kid who wanted to pursue a career in science would first have to overcome his own education in Texas public schools. Creationism IS NOT SCIENCE. I would bet anything that the majority of people doing the heavy lifting in sciencetific research in Texas institutions went to private or prep schools, out of state colleges and universities and are not products of a creationist based curriculum.

Well congrats again. I also bet that they are very good at making fun of other kids who don't have nice clothes, a particular race or make mistakes on an assignment. How very advanced.

We don't have a creationist based curriculum. That is an outright lie made up by the far left who hate a conservative state. Here is a copy of our science curriculum. I am a retired principal. If you find anything on here that suggests the teaching of creationism, then I'll go back to work. Don't believe everything you read in the Globe or National Enquirer. Like these stringent air quality standards? Bush's congress was democrat for two years. Didn't hear them say a thing! http://www.environmentmassachusetts.org/clean... Again, my point, you have nothing over us, so keep your put downs to yourself. Any pollution problems in your area are your fault, not President Bush's. (Hope I passed the grammer exam!)

Most Texans voted conservative, and will again. We are not birthers or deathers. You must be a racist. You of all people, don't speak for most Texans. We are sad to have a socialist liberal communist for President.

Thanks, http://ritter.tea.state.tx.us/curriculum/scie... my kids where educated in texas and when they where moved to kansas they where four years or more smarter than the majority in kansas, and they definitely where NOT only taught creation theories but ALL theories and possibilities in texas,,,and just recently my youngest was told that she is a liar when she confronted a teacher about the true fact that Adam and Eve where not the only people on earth in the begining and that Cain and Able married the daughters of "man"...but then she is also being picked on because she told her class about a huge spacecraft we all witnessed in texas (true story)...in kansas they also cram religion down students throats in school!!!

Sorry to hear that, rebel. The big reason liberals fasley accuse Texas of these things is that we consistently vote conservative. So they fabricate things that are really laughable. Texas is quickly becoming the leading state in medicine, technology, alternative fuel research,(natural gas and wind power) along with many othe catagories. The "blue" states will just have to live with it. Capatilism, competition works if people will leave it alone. Stand up to those narrow minded educators! I did! Ran a few off in my day.

Ran a few off in my day. we are considered outsiders in kansas and miss texas dearly...i personally had it in my head that a small town christian atmosphere and isolation would do my kids good...but in kansas it seems that the government is way worse the city and county get it all the rest work for pennies and just enough to not make a living...it felt like peyton place ,stepford wives with a mix of back to mayberry...and women oh my gosh don't dare speak at public meetings if you are female here, women are supposed to bow to the men rulers,,,and the constitution haha they make things up as they go here...if the county attorney says it's a crime they make an ordianace making it a crime and without the people's vote(keyword Mitchell county kansas)if you speak out you could likely die with absolutely no evidence of how it happened...and if you alert outside authorities as i have tried with the fbi and the department of justice they will tell you to give the county attorney a heads up so he can destroy incriminating evidence...but hey i suppose thats how the majority of government seems to be running, i just wish that someone would notice that has a lot more pull than me....i still go to school board meetings so that i can hear how wonderfull they want us to beleive things are and if i say something thats a possible negative such as fear of god's wrath literature on my daughter's locker, suddenly the meeting wil go into closed session and past bedtime with no decisions made
