Thousands of toxic toads killed in Australian fest - AP

Full story: Guardian Unlimited

A A A' Thousands of poisonous cane toads met their fate Sunday as gleeful Australians gathered for a celebratory mass killing of the hated amphibians, with many of the creatures' corpses being turned into fertilizer for the very farmers they've plagued for years.

I can imagine how many adults and children murdered those poor toads, and more importantly how much pain the animals suffered during the mass killing spree. The killers are nothing more than animal serial killers. Murdering animals is no laughing matter, and should be excluded from all fun events. Children should learn to respect all animals, and not be conditioned to believe that it is fun to murder them. The death of an animal, whether large or small is a very serious matter.

There are hundreds of poisonous animals in the world, but that doesn't give the human race the right to murder them. Amphibians are gentle creatures.

No wonder Australia is an empty country. Who needs to immigrate to a country in the middle of nowhere, where amphibians, sheep and other animals are seriously abused, tortured and murdered. Even the hardiest among us would find it difficult to bear the extreme weather conditions, poisonous insects and poisonous animals.

A website with information about the most poisonous animals, fish and insects in Australia:
http://www.avru.org/compendium/biogs/A000152b...

Why did an Australian MP condone cruelty to animals on a massive scale, and why isn't someone opposing his plans? The RSPCA, as usual, have condoned the barbaric slaughter, just as they condoned the slaughter of many other animals in other parts of the world. The RSPCA, is not in favour of all animals, and quite obviously supports the cruelty, torture and murder of so many vulnerable creatures. I'd like to make it quite clear to everyone, that the RSPCA truly are the biggest hypocrites on the planet, and I will be compiling a list of their hypocritical errors in due course, as the RSPCA seems to be confused about the meaning of animal cruelty.

Instead of the RSPCA being involved with the cruel production of murdered free range animals (meat), and the well-being of animals which are tortured and eventually murdered in animal laboratories, they should be campaigning for these animals to be saved from harm and an excruciatingly painful death sentence. The RSPCA can do this by persuading Governments and large organisations to stop murdering animals in laboratories, where millions of animals are murdered in horrific circumstances every year. If the RSPCA truly care about animals, then they should also be campaigning for vegans and vegetarians. But, because the majority of their confused staff eat murdered animals, they are mixed up and find it difficult to understand that it is morally wrong to support animals that are tortured and murdered. Also, the methods of murder used in slaughterhouses should be changed, so that animals are completely unconscious before they are murdered. Slaughter by way of stunning to the neck, shooting them, electrocution in all orifices, slitting their necks or bellies, beating them, freezing them, boiling them, suffocating or strangling them is not an acceptable method of killing. I do not advocate the murder of any animal, but, because I cannot persuade everyone to change to a vegan or vegetarian diet overnight, certain steps should be taken to protect animals from excruciating pain and distress prior to their death penalty. I suggest the law be changed to an overdose of anaesthetic to render the animals completely unconscious.

Bless those poor, defenceless animals who died in excruciating pain for your pleasure.

I hate toads, they kill our beautiful native animals and they are butt ugly.
Kill as many toads as they like, they aren't native to Australia and everybody is invited to come and kill as many as they can.

Marita you have already been told that they kill native wildlife. Why do you care more about the toads than Australia's natural wildlife?? The RSPCA are trying to protect it. For example, we're not allowed to kill poisonous snakes on our own property, they're "protected".

It's very 'amusing' though that you started ANOTHER thread on this.

(Wait for the abusive and slanderous reply calling me a name and stating her former profession. lol).

I would like to write about the morality of murdering animals for food, laboratory experiments, blood sports, and murdering animals for many other reasons. But, I can only explain a few points, as I am not fully versed in all aspects of morality and ethics.

In my previous comment, the sentence in which I mentioned ‘it is morally wrong to support animals that are tortured and murdered,’ should have been arranged differently.‘It is morally wrong to advocate all forms of animal cruelty, whether in full or in part,’ would be a more appropriate sentence.

I won’t attempt to elaborate on the morality of killing, torturing or abusing animals at the moment, although the RSPCA’s relationship with a chef in relation to one form of animal cruelty is a sad topic I’d like to highlight.

Kazzi, I used to be a gregarious woman many years ago, and burned the candle at both ends by socialising, working in casinos and singing. I do care about everything Kazzi...

The RSPCA is working with Jamie Oliver, a British chef who, was an accomplice to the murder of a live pig on British television. I found the scene more horrific to watch than an RTA victim in A&E – it was so distressing to watch. The young pig was stunned and then awoke during the slaughter, but, as the killer roughly stabbed the pig’s neck with a long knife, Jamie Oliver and his associates held her legs while she visibly struggled to free herself from the chains tied to one of her legs. She bled to death while fully conscious and completely alert, and died in excruciating pain. I could see her struggle and heard her cries for help in the background, as her blood filled the bucket below her head. I will never forget her cries for help during the last few minutes of her life, as she dangled helplessly from the chains she so desperately tried to free herself from. The first time I heard a pig cry in such a distressing manner, was while watching a pig being murdered on video. Several men from the Far East held the pig down on a table, while one of the men stabbed her neck. She bled to death and cried until the end of her precious life, then, as she took her last few breaths, her cries became softer, because she could no longer bear the pain. Listening to the cries from the pig Jamie Oliver murdered on his programme,“Jamie saves our bacon,” were not unlike the distressing cries made by the pig murdered in the Far East. I really don’t know why the RSPCA are so concerned about the production and labelling of free-range meat (murdered animals), when perhaps they should focus more on keeping animals alive, their safety, well-being, good health and happiness. Jamie Oliver produced the programme to show everyone how pigs are reared, and although some scenes were extremely distressing, he was very sympathetic to the needs of pigs, and in particular pregnant females. I only hope he doesn’t handle any more animals whilst they’re being murdered in the future, it’s not a wise thing to do.

Asda, Sainsburys and Tescos, to name but a few stores in the United Kingdom, offer a good selection of reasonably priced ready made vegetarian meals, vegan food, non-dairy produce, including non-dairy cheeses, dairy-free chocolates and desserts to help you on your way to a life without murdered animals. There are hundreds of vegan and vegetarian cookbooks on the market, with delicious, mouth-watering recipes for you to try. I start my day with a nutritious bowl of Allbran, which contains many of the essential vitamins and minerals I need to lead a healthy lifestyle and maintain a healthy digestive system, followed by a refreshing glass of fruit juice, and two cups of green tea (lemon or vanilla flavour) loaded with antioxidants. If you are concerned about your cholesterol levels, then a bowl of flavoured porridge on those cold, winter mornings will mop up the cholesterol in your body. Also, several brands of soya milk contain more calcium and less cholesterol than dairy produce, and the dairy-free yoghurts are probiotic too. Within the next few years I will have enough information to open an animal welfare website, a vegan and vegetarian website, and two vegan and vegetarian cookery books.

Now it’s time for me to read the RSPCA website and other animal welfare websites, as I haven’t looked at them since 2008. As you might have guessed I spend a lot of my time reading.

It's interesting to know how many plebs I'm dealing with here, and just how many people are intellligent enough to write more than just a few expletives or one line sentences. You'll be pleased to know that once I've completed a BA degree, I'll be capable of writing so much more than just a few informative articles.
