Did anyone miss the part about the Second deputy also opening fire and shooting the suspect. Now let's recount. Deputy fires weapon on female, female is probably down and screaming, other deputy fires weapon as well? Hmm.....What the hell did ya do that for Woody? I dunno Buzz, i guess i wanted to make sure she didn't get up. Remember that old lady in Atlanta? She had a shotgun to ya know.

Were you afraid your witty remark didn't post the first time so you hurried to type it again? Get a life. This isn't a comedy show.

I pray the officers come to terms with what happened and know they did the right thing so they could go home to their family in the same way they left. You have ppl behind you and supporting you no matter what other ppl may say. totally agree

A husband is at home, his wife comes at hime with a hammer. The husband shoots her with his hand gun. He is only hit on the hand. How would the judicial handle a domestic case like this?

If anyone wants to criticize the deputies for shooting a hammer wielding woman, name a time and place, I'll bring a woman and a hammer, and you show us all how to take her down without shooting her. But be warned, she won't hold back! She's going to try to kill you with that hammer! Any takers?

Would an officer be willing to give another man that reasoning? Or would he take all parties to jail? A hammer is only good at arms lenght right?

Also, one officer was struck in the hand with the hammer. I guess that means she was at least an arm length away. What if that was his weapon hand? Now he can't get to his gun because his hand is broken. Now what? Is he supposed to just stand there and let this psycho beat him with a hammer? A tazer? Perhaps. Do you for certain the deputies have tazers? Not all departments carry them. They are expensive and some don't carry them because of whinny citizens complaining about people with heart conditions jacked up on drugs like cocaine and meth dying after being tazed. If the deputies don't have tazers, your complaint is moot. You're showing your own ignorance. Until you have all the facts, shut your pie hole. So are you willing to meet me somewhere with a female of my choosing armed with a hammer so you can show all of us how it's done? Let's see you disarm her without hurting her at all. Stop blaming the deputies for wanting to go home at the end of their shift. They didn't choose to be attacked. This stupid psycho b*tch decided to shack up with an armed robber and attack the cops with a hammer. She made a lot of bad decisions. It's her fault. The world is better off without her.

In response that this world is better off with out her. Whoever you are. You may not have been brought up in a way that values life! This young lady at one time was very active in gymnastic, local sports, etc. As a persone regardless of her current faults, at heart she was a very decent person. This could be your daughter onday in the wrong situation. Please be respectful Of Holly. The mistake she made was not worth her life or anyone elses life!

Tazer is a no-go in deadly force because they don't always work. if you miss, you've got four or five seconds before you can reload or transition to deadly force. I don't think I'd pick the one shot option when I've got fifteen chances in about two seconds to save my own ass with lethal force. This wasn't about protecting "citizens" this was about a deputy saving his own ass from someone dangerous.
