It depends. Does music by The Cure count?

There have been writings about how music/culture serves no evolutionary purpose, but receiving news like this makes me think otherwise. I would be willing to bet that societies that value the arts are overall healthier and more productive than other ones. Of course, the downside is over-consumption of heavily processed entertainment, which America does rather well.

|
Music has indisputably curative properties for mental conditions, so it doesn't seem too far fetched that it'd be able to cure physical ailments.
|
||||
|
I hope the government can get insurance companies to pay for music therapy. Also have they done any research on whether it's more effective to play music or sing vs. just listening?

||||
|
There is so much potential here. I truly believe that music and art and food--the basics of life--have the power to heal.

||||
