There have been writings about how music/culture serves no evolutionary purpose, but receiving news like this makes me think otherwise. I would be willing to bet that societies that value the arts are overall healthier and more productive than other ones. Of course, the downside is over-consumption of heavily processed entertainment, which America does rather well.

Music has indisputably curative properties for mental conditions, so it doesn't seem too far fetched that it'd be able to cure physical ailments.

I hope the government can get insurance companies to pay for music therapy. Also have they done any research on whether it's more effective to play music or sing vs. just listening?

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Capricorn

You'll have difficulty finding equilibrium in your emotional life at the moment; try to control the impulsive side of your character. At work, your usual powers of intuition will be clouded. Fits of feverishness may bother you and break down your energy. If you can get out into the countryside for a walk, you'll feel much better.
