I used to live in chandlersville near the wilds.

It was a really cool place to live.

Zanesville is not bad.

Are you NUTS!!!!!!!!!! Living in Zanesville is like living in hell! There isn't anything to do. There are nothing but red necks with their red neck nasty fat women. You obviously haven't been anywhere to compare. I feel sorry for you. Get a life, and get out of Zanesville, Ohio. Zanesville puts the SUCK, in the word SUCKS!

They must have started this as a joke, or they work at city hall. Even the birds fly upside down over zanesville because there is nothing here worth craping on.

I've been to Kentucky, Pennsylvania, New York & Massachusetts and Yes ZANESVILLE is nothing. It's boring and ugly. I have lived there for 30 years and I am soooooooooo burned out from it. Cincinnati is a nice place, Northern Kentucky is nice too.

Funny you can say that I have been in 32 differant states and although Zanesville may at times be a crap hole there are alot of places that are a heck of alot worse than here and living here for almost 28 years i can personally tell you that if you don't like our city find somewhere else and live.

I'm a Zanesville native also. I have also traveled extensively in all 48 continental United States. I can tell you with a clear conscience that Zanesville is the worst town I have ever been in. I have never seen a city of that size be so infested with crime and corruption. And the attitude of the people is down right pathetic. No where else can you observe so many people who are so egotistical, ill mannered, no common sense, self centered, mouthy and as ignorant as the wonderful citizens of the Y-City.

One thing that has always fascinated me about that pathetic little hole in the earth is when you do take a moment to look around in a public setting and observe the people is that everyone seems to put off this "I'm the toughest guy in the world" attitude, yet when they don't get something they want they all cry and carry on like a spoiled little brat who has had their favorite toy taken away from them.

Just take a look at the city's night life. Even their higher end clubs or bars are only nice by Zanesville standards and dives by normal standards. The lower end establishments are places I wouldn't even allow my dog to defecate in.

Paul's comment was that "if you don't like our city find somewhere else to live" ...... that's exactly what my family and I did. If you want to live the rest of your days in a community full of crime where nothing else is going to happen, have at it.

Obviously you idiots have never been to Huntington, West Virginia, aka little Detroit. We have it easy here, there are more businesses here, and on top of that, more opportunities for entertainment. Going to college down there is fine, but if you go off campus, you're putting yourself at risk for many bad things to happen.

Stop thinking that Zanesville is such a shitty place when it clearly isn't.

I agree with th general consensus. Zanesville sucks. Maybe there are worse towns out there as far as crime goes. But Zanesville and the attitude of it's moron population really suck.

Obviously, you haven't been outside the state, much less the county. Go to West Virginia, it's plenty worse. Go to Kentucky, it's almost as bad as West Virginia. Even Jackson, OH is worse off than us. Get your head out of your ass before you make those assumptions.

Just recently moved to Zanesville. It's no different than any other town in SE Ohio - no better, no worse. As for crime ... no worse than where I used to live (little burg along the Ohio River) and much less than Huntington or Charleston, W.Va.

Just a little info here ...... Huntington has a population of over 250,000 people. comparing it to Zanesville, which has a population of 25,000-30,000, is really pointless. So before you start calling people idiots and telling them they have their heads up their rear-ends maybe you should check your facts and remove your head from your rectum.

And I agree with many of the other posters in that zanesville, for it's size, is a pathetic town. Other nearby communities of comparable size such as coshocton and cambridge are much nicer towns.

Excuse me, I'm pretty sure that the city of Huntington does not have that many people in it's city limits. If you include the towns of Barboursville, Guyandotte, Ona, along with towns across the river in OH such as Chesapeake, South Point, and Proctorville, and the city of Ashland, KY, you would have 250k. But, I mean, what would I know, I only go to Marshall, I wouldn't know any of this shit, right? Like I said before, remove your cranial cavity from your colon. This city/micropolis of ours is far better off than you think, and quite frankly, until you live in WV for awhile, you have no right to say that Zanesville is worse than there.

FYI ... According to the 2010 Census, Huntington's population is 49,138. The Huntington-Ashland market (which includes Cabell and Wayne counties in WV, Boyd and Greenup in KY and Lawrence in OH) has a population of about 285,000.
That said, I will agree with Capt. Obvious that it's a bit of an apples-oranges comparison between Zanesville and Huntington given the larger market area surrounding Huntington.

If you take Huntington by itself, which was my point in the first place, you are not comparing apples to oranges.
