Oh, let's not forget the various bribery scandals that they enrich themselves with while corruptly spending your tax dollars on special interests. You see, they're not completely narcissistic. They help their friends while they are helping themselves to our money. Why don't you put down the talking points script from the Daily Kos and at least try and keep focused on the one issue this post is about - social programs for kids? That's right...you can't handle being focused. That would require discipline and self restraint...two principles you arrogant liberals are severely lacking.

It sounds like they just put up a couple of hoops to save face and let the kids fend for themselves. Yea, as if that's going to do anything. We need to invest in our children, not just put up a token basketball hoop here and there so we can gain an extra 12 votes in the next election. That's a joke. Hire a babysitter. I didn't force you to have kids. I don't have any and I don't want to pay for yours.

Wow...I'm speechless at the hate you feel. Re-read your post, and then read mine. I feel no hate at all. I am agreeing with you about responsibility. I'm agreeing with you about raising children with respect. I'm agreeing with you on responsibility in government. Nobody is going to agree on all points. You are entitled to your opinion, so am I, so is everybody here. We clearly see at least some things differently, I can respect that. If you think that my post is hateful, that's ok, you are entitled. It's not what I feel.

The conservatives have continuously slashed the funding youth services such as hockey rinks, skate board parks, swimming pools, rec centers, basketball courts, rock climbing walls, obstacle courses and diversity training centers. And now you have the gall to wonder why our kids are being destructive? Voting Republican is dangerous to society. I'm a liberal and I don't know what the heck you're going on about! When I was a kid we didn't have youth centers, skating rinks, hockey rinks etc. etc. etc.(or if we did have them they were just a roped off meadow). We behaved because our parents would have warmed our backsides if we didn't. It didn't matter which party was in office, Democratic or Republican. It was the PARENTS who saw to it that their kids behaved. A lot of parents these days want to be their kids' "best friend" instead of their parent or they just plain don't give a darn.

While I do agree with how conservatives slash programs that help deal with this, I blame liberals on one issue: welfare-affordable housing. I live in a suburb and we never had problems with bored youth going on summer crime sprees before the rental apartments turned into affordable housing. I really can't speak for cities but in a boring suburban environment it is crucial to have a family structure, transportation(a car), and a house to live in to provide your kids with activities so they don't turn into discontented youth.

From the sounds of it you'll be on your way to heaven soon and can take all of the money with you. Oh wait... better quick give it to the church or a republican quick! Why do a lot of people think that just throwing money at education will solve anything? If I have to live within a budget the school district should also. Also why aren't children accountable to thier parents any more? I'll tell you why. The parents don't want to be parents to the kids they want to be buddies and rely on the school system to teach them everything else.

Hey is this a fair question to a real estate agent:'so does this area we plan to buy a home in have a problem with congregating youth who need outreach and supervision programs to contain their criminal tendencies for a measley three months out of the year?'

My taxes pay for 9 months out of the year - I think these half-brained sub-par parents of these ferrel humans can figure out something for the other 3. Here's an idea - don't breed if you don't plan on giving guidance and attention to your kids. Real parents don't rely on the government. Kids are in trouble and bored because their parents don't give them something to do.
