So there's a review of this so-called "orchestra" but not one of our own Columbus Symphony, who also performed last night. Way to support your hometown, Dispatch.

Cheesy. Really? You call a creative, moving, and fantastically written rock opera like that to be cheesy? You weren't even paying attention to the story. Fate never offers to trade his hearing for his compositions; only Mephistopheles is interested in acquiring his music. What Fate does is offer to change things about Beethoven's life, and he discovers that changing things would prevent him from ever writing his music to begin with. And saying it was too long? I was shocked to find that it was already 11 PM and initially wondered why they weren't going to continue!

We paid good money and stood in line to get to see TSO in what I would call an excllent show and this guy, no doubt gets in for free with NO waiting because he's "The Press" AND still has what it takes to call it "Cheesy". WOW. If TSO dosen't impress him, what can??? I have heard many people from all age groups and walks of life describe TSO and the word "cheesy" has never been mentioned, untill now. I would never call it "Chhesy," but I did feel it a bit self-indulgent and about 45 minutes too long. TSO is immesely talented and I love 'em, but if I were asked to offer a biot of constructive crisitcism, I'd tell them simply to trim it down, eliminate the extraneous story lines and characters(i.e, the unseen waif and Fate)-- it'd far more interesting and dramatic as a moral struggle between the composer and Mephistopheles) and lose the "hair dancing." I understand the last lends itself to the rock show milieu but it's unnecessary and distracting here; if you're going to dance, then DANCE, don't cheapen the otherwise incredible production values with "dancing" that ain't. The object of a show like this one should be to leave the audience wanting more; not reduce them to wondering if it's ever going to end.

yes cheesy. terribly so. Saw them in Hamilton Ontario, I left before it was over it was almost unbearable. Music was uninteresting.
Having a plethora of talented musicians does not equate to a good show.
I will admit, most people at the concert were loving it i guess it just wasn't for me.
