I have wanted to take ballet since I was about 5 or 6, but was never able to, due to certain circumstances. I am now 16, and even though I am starting at a later age, I now have an opportunity that allows me to take classes! However, I live in a small town, and the nearest ballet school, that is worth paying for, is about 68 miles away.. Now, as I am just starting out, I will have 2 classes a week per "semester". I've done the math with gas prices, mpg, etc. and have figured out that for one semester, it would be near $1,088 to get to and from these classes. As I improve, and move up in the program, I will have more and more classes a week. Needless to say, I don't have that money. I then searched for buses and transits that I could take to cut the price dramatically, but there are none from my city to where I need to go. I have such a passion for dance, and am willing to do whatever I can to make my dream come true. Any suggestions as to cheaper alternatives for transportation, ways to make money to afford the high gas prices, or words of encouragement will be greatly, greatly appreiciated!
