I have been told that Wilson Pickett is a nephew of my great-great grandmother Martha Pickett. The story is that Martha's brother stowed away on a boat from Jamaica to the USA. Not sure if we are related. Have you heard any stories of a family member from Jamaica.

Sounds like I have a-lot of cousins out there! From what I know ... Major Pickett was Wilson Pickett's grandfather. Lula Obanner was Major Pickett's mother. Lula Obanner had other children, Clem, Ned, Nona and Pearl. I am looking for geneology information on Lula Obanner. The stories I remember are that her father was an Irish Sea Captain and her mother whom I think was named Irabelle was of Native American and African descent. Any information on Lula's geneology would be appreciated. Grace and Peace.
