Holmes is not "mentally ill."
He passed the sanity test to buy those guns & bullets, didn't he?

The psychologists will blame the 'truth' medicine he was prescribed.

What sanity test does it take to by a gun & bullets? How many suicides could have been prevented if those mentally ill people hadn't been able to buy a gun?

NO ONE in their RIGHT mind commits an act like Holmes did. I'm not condoning his actions at all. I'm just saying, NO ONE commits such an act if they are sane. Plenty of mental ill people are walking around the streets right now. They hold jobs, go to school, drive cars and seem perfectly normal. They even buy guns. But inside something is going haywire and once those wires fry out, it's anybody's guess what might happen. Some people kill themselves. Some people kill others.

The thing is we have almost no way of institutionalizing the mentally ill for evaluation or treatment in order to get them off the street and out of harm's way. It's too late once they've snapped and created a tragedy.

The mind is a very fragile thing. Mental illness is an equal opportunity disease. It's like cancer. It can happen to anyone.
