Gay Man Severely Beaten Outside Albuquerque Nightclub

The gay man was beaten by a gang of several men after rushing to the assistance of a woman being assaulted by the gang.

{This it the key sentence that everyone seems to be overlooking....first, my prayers go out to everyone, the gay man and the woman being assaulted and those doing the beating because we are called to pray for our enemies as well.

This kind of thing is horrendous and security should be increased.

However, the man wasn't beaten because he was gay, but because he stepped in to try and help a woman, which I commend and he should get an award or something.

And the gang wouldn't retaliate because he is gay but because he tried to step in and help the woman.

The gay community is misguided and to use this a some political ploy is grevious and dishonest and dishonors what the man was trying to do.}

Yep as soon as anything happens to somebody and that somebody just happens to be gay all of a sudden it's a "hate crime" and all other facts surrounding the issue just fly right out the window. What a load of BS!

It's too bad the gay gentleman was not packing a Glock 21. Each of the five thugs could have gotten two rounds with an extra three rounds to spare.

First: I denounce the cowardly and pathetic attacks in the comments made about this man here and anywhere.

Second: Where did you find out about any slurs that these men said? They beat him up because he tried to intervene in their assault on the woman. The slurs would have come after, I am sure there were slurs against the woman as well. Yet far from even focusing on the first victim here, the woman, you want to make it something that it isn't. Simple, a man tried to help a woman being assaulted, the men did not like being interrupted and beat up the man trying to help the woman. Those men should be strung up and jailed immediately. And I have to admit, I agree with you first paragraph. However, don't make it something more and don't take the focus of the crime of the first victim either. Wouldn't it be a hate crime against the woman too? Either way, it was wrong no matter what.

Obviosly you have a problem with gays. NO ONE here is calling for this to be charged as a hate crime, that's in your mind. The gay community is calling for more safety and security for EVERYONE. You'd know that if you read the article or watched the video. How in your twisted mind is that a bad thing???

Yet, they are focused on this man being gay, and responding because of that. Below is another key sentence.

Dozens in the local gay community are demanding change saying they don't feel safe in downtown Albuquerque.
