Teen recovering after being shot with Taser dart

I don't recall a taser having long range if I remember right its like 35 feet... So I guess this Hatcher must have been running when he fired???

Anyway... Girls, let that be a lesion to you... when we parents say get off the phone now! we mean, Or else we'll get a Police chief to shoot you in the head with a taser, so get off the phone NOW!!!!!!

I guess the police chief needs some excercise. It sounds like he just got mad because he couldn't catch up with the girl. Why would he aim the dart at her head, if he didn't have intentions of causing her her harm? The end result may be life altering for the girl, she may suffer residual effects from it.

I wonder what made the "chief" qualified for his job? Is he another crony appointed because he knew someone?

Okay, so the Mom takes the daughter to the police department because she is fighting with her daughter over a cell phone? What's up with that? And now, they are questioning the police for excessive use of force? Woman, get a hold of your life and get a hold of your daughter's life. Wow what a world we live in. A grown ass man has to use a TASER on a 14-year old kid. Doesn't sound like she was any danger to him. It's so sad how we hear of police brutality all over this state it seems like every week yet as a community we let it get swept under the rug by our politicans.

The Police Chief should resign. He obviously doesn't have the mental capacity to do his job. The family should sue the city.

this guy must not have been trained, we all know that cops are trained in shooting any and all fire arms so for him to shoot her in the head he was aiming for her head and if he says he didnt mean to this guy needs to go back to basic traing! and i know where not to travel in the future...the police are the dangerous ones...

Don't see you using your real name. The chief should be charged with child abuse and the mother should have her parental rights revoked.

Charges for WHAT, Chief? For running from her mom or arguing with her mom? You shot a teenaged child with a DART to her head, you moron! YOU are the one who needs charges filed against them, not this INNOCENT victim of your deadly force!

Yeah, riiiight! We're supposed to be the cowards because we won't post our real names and addresses on a forum where all the world, including nutcases, can see it! KOB doesn't require us to post our names and addresses for OBVIOUS reasons--they're called safety and privacy. Even heard of those?

What you want us to do is shut our mouths until the news media no longer covers the story and it dies down. I'm sure it might be difficult to figure out for some people, but it's pretty simple for the rest of us: Someone SHOT A CHILD WITH A DEADLY WEAPON, without provocation. That's called deadly force and it shouldn't be used on our children. Is that simple enough for you?

People do all kinds of stupid things, including bringing their kids to the cop shop when they have arguments. But that doesn't give the cops license to use deadly force on CHILDREN.

Seems to me that police all over the country are mis-using taser guns. Seems like each week another child or grandmother gets tasered without real cause! Tasers don't do harm - it's the police using them that causes harm! Perhaps the police need anothe class on how and when to use them!

Why is it when a parent finds themselves not being a able to control thier kids they call in the police? Parents..IT is NOT the police departments responssiblity to control your KIDS. Learn how to be a parent, set limits, rules, and boundries. When those are broken there are consequences that are ENFORCED. The police chief did what he was supposed to do, he didn't know why the kid was running away putting her life and others in jeopardy. Mom wanted the police involoved, they got involved, now because her daughter was injured she's crying about it....Sorry mom, have no sympathy for your plight. Sorry your daughter was injured, but if YOU had control of your kids this would not have happend
