Searches find more body parts on West Mesa

We now have our own little Juarez here in ABQ!! That is a scary thought if I ever had one. This story reminds me of the mexican drug cartels ruthless operations along the US/Mexican border.

This is real progress. Our politicians have let in the worst of the worst and now we all have to pay a different fare.

and who knows how many countless of bodies were scattered and buried when construction worked the area

The fact the three remains were found so close to each other seems to indicate a Jack the Ripper type of targeting prostitutes. To bad APD didn't put the effort in on investigating the first two women's disappearance that they are doing searching for more murder victims. Who knows why these women become hookers & fall through the cracks? Drugs? Mental illness? Regardless, they are still human beings with families who have to be devastated & horrified at how they may have died. Hopefully no effort will be spared in searching for the monster responsible for these gruesome crimes. Ya listening Chief Schultz?

My understanding is that the city had only one part-time missing person's detective during this time period. How can that be for a city the size of Albuquerque and with so many missing persons?

My niece went missing during that time frame. We feel she is one of the girls buried on that Mesa. She is/was a wonderful person who unfortunately got hooked on drugs and may have eventually turned to prostitution to feed her addiction. If she is one of those girls out there on the mesa...I want you all to know that her life had value. She was loved and the person responsible for this should be found and punished. There was never any media coverage for the disappearance of the large number of girls that went missing since 2001. The first I saw was a short newspaper article in 2007 that finally showed pictures and gave names of the girls. That was the first I learned that there were so many and with the same background. This should be a lesson learned that more resources should go into finding out what happens to missing persons so that this will not happen again.

Anyone with any information about the girls that went missing (to include my niece Gina Michelle Valdez and Cinnamon-who were friends and went missing about the same time) please email me at lynda.burkhalter@yahoo.com or email Michelle's mother Karen at jacksonk@sccoast.net. Al the haters out there that want to judge my niece...please do not respond to Michelle's family with words of hate. Have some respect.(there were several hateful posts on the earlier news article). I will tell you Cinnamon's last name is Elks and the investigators need to look at the Cubans that these individuals were involved with. I don't meant this to be rude but am only trying to help. I could tell alot more but not on this forum.

I do know these individuals and others that may have info, I would perfer not to email cause it then makes me known. I will share my info with other law enforcement officers. Citizens of Albuquerque and beyond, stop the whimpering and do something constructive. Yes, it all boils down to grief unimaginable and lots of families left with a loss and a very empty feeling in their gut. I know that I have suffered a loss of my BabySis, who lived in Denver, someone OD her and she was found dead, very cold reality for sure. I am still not over the grief. However we as citizens of NM or wherever need to join ranks and brain-storm some real answers to these problems. I am not insensitive and don't want your sympathy for my loss, however, stand-up, be the mature person and fight against what is going on here in the SW desert. Life is not kind and your gods will only stand back and watch for your response, and then help will come forward.

Lady Blue, look I'm the one that reached out and will do what I can to help this family. If you read my post, it is pretty obvious that my information is creditable. If you are in contact with the investigators, suggest to them that they check the medical records of Cinammon Elks at UNMH, she was very badly beaten, prior to all these people starting to disapear. You may find something there on Michelle. I will try and contact you by the info you left.
