If Walgreens can make it without liquor in most of their stores, so too can CVS. If CVS is using the threat of not opening without a liquor let them go elsewhere.
I am already angry with the City Concil for the tax breaks given to Armstrong (a.k.a., Strongarm) Properties because of their threat of not building the center without them. |

The last thing we need is another frigging liquor establishment in Abq! Hit the road CVS, bueno bye! |

Hmm, ALL three of the Walgreens outlets in Las Cruces sell liquor. It's the busiest department of each store, and the only one not to run out of advertised specials...:-/ If CVS doesn't want to move to Albuquere, let them move to Las Cruces, which needs more competition besides Walgreens, Wal-Mart, and K-Mart for the pharmacy business. |

Ooooooooooo, a pharmacy that wants a liquor license? How about setting up shop in the vicinity of Coors and Central?

It seems as though there are as many Walgreen's in Albuquerque as there are Starbucks. Only a half-dozen or so sell liquor. When the old Walgreen's that sold liquor closed in our neighborhood to move into a new building (without liquor sales), the problem with drunks disappeared. |

What's really stupid is a state that bans drive-up windows for liquor, yet permits liquor sales in gas stations. This only prevents falling-down drunks from buying their booze. |

Pretty sad that they think they need booze to turn a profit!

CVS sucks anyway, you need a frequent shoppers card (like Smiths or Albertsons) to get any of the deals.

Awesome....Build it....Give them the liquor license...the neighbohood needs another place to purchase liquor...and the thugs were running out of places to rob.

Don't give in to them, we don't need them anyway as there are enough drug stores, liquor stores and grocery stores in our city and to many Wal-marts.
I go to the grocery store to buy food, not drugs, I go to the drug store for medications not food. I go to the gas station for gas, not beer, wine or hard stuff (even though I don't drink, it is the point here that counts). Wonder when your local dry cleaning store will start selling porn magazines, your local hamburger joint will start selling condoms to the kids who hang out there and when your local video store will start selling beer? Let's keep the type of store in line here and tell CVS Albuquerque does not want them if they cannot abide by our rules. NO LIQUOR IN CVS stores. |

I'll believe it when I see it. Remember a few years ago, when they built all of those stores, many of which still stand vacant? I grew up with CVS back east, but as to them coming out here, I will believe it when I see it.

1 With the sorry state of our legal system today, some gangbanger probably would sue for lack of places to rob, and win! |

What is the difference btween 8 stores & 9 don't you think it might have been wise to complain when there were 2 stores. Let them have there Liquor License the competition for perscrirtion drugs is more important than the alchohol. It sounds more like the anti-alcohol establishment flexxing there muscles again.

Weren't those buildings for a Medicine Shoppe? Not sure. |

Walgreens sprout up like weeds and not all of them have liquor departments. It's not CVS or bust after all.

It was the Eckerd Drugstore chain. JC Penney owned and them but decided to sell to CVS. CVS declined to open the Albuquerque sites. What really irked me was that they tore down Seagull Street to put one of these buildings in. I think the one on Montgomery and San Mateo is still vacant. |

i think that 8 package liquor stores in the immediate area is enough...if cvs is going to take care of the drunk(s) problem like walgreen's on coors/central does, then we don't need them (cvs)...a skyview west reisdent...
