It's that time of year again Albuquerque: June 11, 12 and 13 is Gay Pride, three days of in-your-face sexual opulence that will either make you want to squeal like a little school girl...or puke. How do you feel about publicly promoting what many believe to be a deviant lifestyle?

I personally think it is stupid. If your gay your gay why the hell have a parade? It would be just as stupid as us having a "straight" pride parade. It's ridiculous and makes them look stupid!

I declare gay pride to be illegal and have asked congress to pass a bill making all states void all gay marriages. Gays are not to be allowed to flaunt their deviant sick lifestyle nor demand we accept them. If they cannot accept the fact that the majority of Americans do not agree with them they should move to a country that accepts them. Why should our Police be required to block streets you plan to march on and inconvenience the general population? I bet Mexico would welcome all gays so move there.

As long as it's not as "In your face" as the San Francisco Gay Day parade. I used to live there and some of the costumes were obscene!

dad, I think that this is a good idea because it gives you a form of expressing yourself, plus i think it would be GREAT if people had a Straight Pride Parade. Have at It. Gay Pride gives a lot of lesbian, gay, bi, and transgendered people an opportunity to meet other people of the LGBT family. i think that if people are gonna be "homophobic" they need to grow up. that's like little kids saying they're gonna get "cooties". love is love and it doesn't matter what gender it is together. i know some of this stuff sounds irrelevant, but last year's Gay Pride had a lot of protestors withs signs saying things such as God Abhors You and HOMO SEX IS A THREAT TO NATIONAL SECURITY. THAT is something irrelevant to the gay community, how exactly are they a threat such as that?

I don't care if people are gay, but I hate these ostentatious events. I've never understood the need for parades. The drag queens come out in force, and then demand that they be treated with respect for their choices. I think it works against the "gay pride" movement, and actually scares people. For people demanding to be treated like everyone else, these weekends make them stand apart, and they do it to themselves. Give me all the bad little icons, I don't care. It's my opinion.

This is the problem with equal rights, they take it to the extreme. I do not have a Straight Pride so why should anyone have a Gay Pride if they want equal rights. By the other posts the Gay Pride seems to go a bit overboard. I say can-it.

Should'nt it be called PROUD, not pride. I am proud of who I am, I am proud of what my kids have done, what some people have done etc. Pride, give me a break here and use the proper wording. However one definition of pride fits them well. ---------- Pride is sometimes viewed as excessive or as a vice, sometimes as proper or as a virtue. ---------- VICE is the proper word.

Deviant Lifestyle? Who the hell thinks that? People who are uneducated. People are born gay just as dumb f$@#s are. It is in the genes whatever you might be so we should accept and respect each other. No gain in hating.

Because folks like you and I have not been (and still are) persecuted for being heterosexual. They have, so if they want to push that aside and be proud of who and what they are, why is that a bad thing? And as for the remarks about the in-your-face stuff, open an issue of any pop-culture magazine and look at the ads. Heterosexual ads bordering on the obscene abound.

I still can't understand why anyone wants to play with something on someone else when they have the same thing to play with in their own pants. If the same sex appealed to me, I would consider myself messed up in the head if I ignored all those pretty babes out there. VIVA LA DIFFERENCE!!!!!

I have two female dogs and I'm sure the smaller one had 'gay' genes in her as a puppy. All of the time she's sniffing my other dogs butttt and licking her parts. Yep, I have a gay dog. She seems to be okay with it and the other dogs allow it so I'm okay with it. However; the only parade she wants any part of is the daily walk to chase rabbits and squirrels. When strange dogs come around she's the first to snap at them. Yep, sort of reminds of the perversion that wants to march to let everyone know they are gay, lesbian, transgender (whatever that is) or just plain obnoxious. Be whatever you want but try to do it in the privacy of your own home.

Heterosexual's have never been discriminated against or the subject of hate crimes . Homosexuals to this day face discrimination . So to raise awareness they have a social gathering called a parade . I'm sure that the first Pride parade that is not met with homophobic protesting will be the last Pride Parade because at that point they will no longer be needed to raise awareness of the abuses and discrimination that homosexuals still receive in this country.

They can be proud of who and what they are in their own homes like the rest of us. They keep throwing things like the parade in peoples faces and people become more and more upset with heterosexuals. By the way I do not look in pop-culture magazine ads, I have more important things to do.

I am proud of who I am. I am proud to be a father, husband, good employee, caucasian, etc. I am secure in the fact that I am what I am...I don't need a parade to tell me that I am good. Why is it that someone needs a parade to celebrate themself? How about you simply live your life, the way you were born, and use that as an example to others of yourself and similar people. Could you imagine the outrage if there was a male pride parade...or a white pride parade??? I would be able to participate in both, but would be labeled as a racist or a chauvanist. Live your life the way you want to live it...but let me live mine how I choose.....and yes...homosexuality is not a choice...but neither is the male gender or my skin color....I don't force that on anyone.
