"A 500 Million shortfall, huh?"

What happened at that, "Election year special session, that the Governor had to have?" They spend 300 Million Dollars, based on projected revenues!

Losers, Losers, Losers!

"More art, music and PE teachers"???? Hmmmmmmm???

How about we get more teachers to get these kids to read, spell, handle math, geography, science, and understand their governemnt??? Novel idea?
\
(When a kid can't make change, can't locate Germany, Japan, or Florida on a map, can't name his or her congressional representatives, has no idea how a bill becomes a law, and is hopelessly ignorant of history, maybe we don;t need them drawing picyures, making pottery, or playing b'ball....ya think????

There is a simple idea to fix a lot of APS's problems. We fund the classroom first, if there is anything leftover that can go to administrative costs. I though school was about teaching not funding huge administrations. Just a thought.

When APS pulled back on the arts and music programs, our children suffered.

A child's mind is like a sponge growing up. Art and poetry and music allows them to become independent, nurturing, more loving and definitely get more involved in school. They learn how to change the world through that independence.

They are encouraged to release their inner "self," whether it be by words, music, sculptures, painting, it is a wonderful adventure!

You see these "soccer" moms and children flying all over town stressed out taking their children to these meets where everyone fights except for the athletes.

The opposite applies when a child is allowed to express themselves through art, music or poetry. There is no pressure to do better than the other, just freedom to release your inner feelings, and make this world a better place to live in.

For once, APS is thinking outside the "box."

We need a nation and leaders that are artists, poets, musicians, secretaries, laborers. Let's give it a try.

Test have showen that students that are in some sort of music program at school have higher test scores. My daughter has been in the school orchestra for the past three year, she has all "A"s. I remember when band and orchestra started back in the 4th grade.

APS wants this by tacking on a 1 percent gross receipts tax. We cannot afford this and need to stop it now. We all know this will not go to the schools or our children, but to the towers of power and more administrators.

Start with the board members. There are a few coming up for election soon. Just say NO to incumbents.
