How important is sex in a relationship?

Sex is also very important. Looks, not so much. If you have a friendship too then you probably make each other laugh, and that's very important. Admiration and respect are important; once you lose those, it's over.

Sex is an 'action'. Relationships are based on things like love, respect, committment and selflessness. When you have all these, sex is the icing on the cake!

The emphasis on sex in this country is disgusting, it's the be-all and end-all of relationships. Sex is an animal act...the relationship is in our hearts, minds, emotions and hopes.

Sex without love, without a meaningful relationship, is just quick, empty physical moves. Sex with someone you love and respect in every way is a pinnacle of that loving relationship.

Kids today think that intercourse is love. That's just wrong.

I can only speak for myself: I would much rather have a deep, non-sexual loving relationship with someone than a wham, bam, thank-you ma'am. But that's just me.
