One has to remember Sherry Robinson makes no bones about the fact she is a die hard democrat and all of her views are serious tainted. Knowing that, put her pieces where they belong, in the trash. She has the right to her opinion and I have the right to see through her biased writings.

How funny. This Ms. Robinson appears to be a Denish hack, taken on in an article written by the Republican Lt. Gov. candidate.

R's will condemn Denish. D's will overlook that bias in order to charge writer Sanchez' own bias. Denish's econ plan is incomprehensible, and Martinez' is solidly in line with what one would expect from the Republican party. Denish brings a record of destruction in the current administration, and Martinez continues to be dogged by widespread ethics complaining.

As if we expect integrity in this corrupt state. It is astonishing to see the number of people who, like in every election past, are convinced that it will be different this time.

Who else is running, anyway?

Martinez has released a comprehensive budget plan
John Sanchez GOP candidate, Lt. Governor
Posted: 07/20/2010 08:15:35 PM MDT
Last week, in an unfortunate column published in the Ruidoso News, Sherry Robinson attacked Doņa Ana County District Attorney and Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Susana Martinez's position on the economy and state budget. Robinson wrote, "What do our candidates for governor have to say? Republican Susana Martinez has three paragraphs on her Web site...For the most part, these are platitudes, not plans."
Robinson goes on to praise Diane Denish's economic and budgetary plan, which should not be surprising.
A quick search of Robinson's previous columns demonstrates she is a fan and frequent advocate on Denish's behalf. What is disturbing is how ill-informed Robinson was concerning Susana Martinez and her economic platform.
Here are some basic facts that would be useful for readers of the Ruidoso News that one won't otherwise see in Robinson's writings.
On May 6, Susana Martinez released her comprehensive economic plan for New Mexico, including a detailed approach to deal with the epic budget mess created by none other than the Richardson/Denish Administration. Martinez even had an op-ed published speaking to her plan and getting the economy back on track.
Martinez spoke to that plan as she campaigned across the state and after winning the primary election, and conducted a Jobs & Economic Recovery tour with stops and media events in Albuquerque, Las Cruces, Roswell and Hobbs.
Going further, Martinez met with Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry to discuss the
Advertisement
plan, rolled out a small business coalition and received the endorsement of the Associated Builders and Contractors of New Mexico. All of which was distributed to the media and prominently featured on Susana Martinez's gubernatorial campaign Web site.
The reality is that for the last two months, Martinez has been speaking very publicly and consistently about New Mexico's economy and the budgetary disaster created by the Richardson/Denish Administration and the establishment in Santa Fe. And rather than just assigning blame, which correctly falls at the feet of those in power including our esteemed lieutenant governor, Martinez has been prescribing solutions to move the state forward.
Susana Martinez's five-point plan to clean up the mess created by the Richardson/Denish Administration, includes: restraining government spending, ending corruption which wastes millions in precious taxpayer dollars, phasing out job-killing taxes to make New Mexico more competitive with surrounding states, reviving our struggling energy sector, and improving the state's business climate.
For too long, New Mexico has been under the grip of those who put themselves in front of the people who create the jobs and pay the bills. Susana Martinez is a unique and different kind of candidate who will not bend to the status quo and will challenge those in power to do what's right and put the state and its people first.
She has put forward, campaigned on, publicized and won plaudits for an economic plan that will change the way business is done in the Roundhouse.
We will not shy away from any fair criticism and expect to continue to engage in a vigorous debate, particularly related to the top issue confronting New Mexico - jobs and the economy. But we will not allow or accept unfair and narrow-minded attacks that in no way reflect the truth.
We must not ignore the obvious; Diane Denish had a front row seat as her administration wasted and spent our state to virtual bankruptcy. This is not a record worthy of a promotion.
So, the next time you read a column saying Susana Martinez has not driven the debate on the critical economic issues confronting New Mexico, like dealing with the budget mess, please consider the source as it appears the only homework the dog ate was Sherry Robinson's.
John Sanchez is the Republican Lieutenant Gubernatorial candidate.

Take a look at the "Taxpayer tab sky high..." thread to see how much Denish has already wasted flying about the state and what she claims to have been 'unaware' of. Is someone that is so uninformed on policies they SHOULD be informed on (for services they themselves use), a person you really want as our next Governor? Is selective memory loss about important issues one is involved in something we can continue to condone?

NO WAY! Denish is not someone NM can afford any longer nor that of her minions. NM cannot continue to exist with this type of ignorant (as in not knowing) leadership style. LEGAL residents of NM deserve so much more and demand such.

Vote MARTINEZ in Nov for the next Governor of NM.

Denish is crazy if she thinks she can just walk away from eight years of corrupt government in which she was the second in command. I just don't buy she didn't know or agree with what was going on around her. Had she resigned maybe she could run on her own but that sure didn't happen.

crazy if you think she was "second in command" in the administration. Maybe in terms of assuming duties constitutionally, but certainly not in fact.

2nd in command. If she was (assuming) so against all the gov's shenanigans, she should have resigned. But she continued as the govs 2nd in command with or without the blinders on.

Not once did Denish voice an objection to Richardson's raping of New Mexico. Therefore that makes her an accomplice in what was done. A vote for Denish is a vote for the corrupt politics as usual that plagues the current administration.

She has done what she could. If she resigned she could do NOTHING. She kept her nose clean, did not support Bill in his corrupt dealings, and helped every investigation with info that they could not have gotten otherwise. She hung in tehre and served the state under this crook even though it meant trouble for her.

She didnt "quit" which would be giving up. She didnt oppose him publicly which would have made her ineffective. When Bill was going to Washington she had a great plan to clean up his mess and get back on teh right foot. It included many great changes that would have crippled Bills "system" of funneling money out the back door.

"Second in command" would be the head of the SIC as far as raw power goes. Leutenant Gov would be down ther at a Cabinet Seccys. level or below. For anyone who thinks that she was EVER in the position to be complicit with Bill, or to oppose him effectively does not know how our political structure works in New Mexico.

For those who blame Denish for anythign she has NOT done you need to find out how our system works. I am certainly not supporting Denish but you cant blame a deputy for what the sheriff has done.

Our decisions should be made based on qualifications, experience, and political intent. Just as Obama was elected by virtue of people hating Bush, rather than on Obama's qualifications, we are going to decide our choice for Gov based on people hating Bill, rather than the candidates qualifications.

No doubt Bill Richardson is Susanas biggest asset right now. But she is certainly not a leader and neither is Denish. Bill being a crook does not make Denish a poor choice and neither does it make Susana a good choice. Denish has always beena t odds with Bill Richardson and Susana has always been his buddy. In reality, Susana is a hell of a lot closer to Bill than Denish is. And Susana is the one with teh deeply rooted political connections in the true New Mexico fashion. Not Denish.

So if you play the partisan game and are satisfied with the assumption that Denish must be in cahoots with Bill becasue tof the party affiliation then you have been fooled. And if you believe that Susana will sudenly begin to "fight corruption" in Santa Fe as Governor when she has never attempted to fight corruption in Dona Ana County as DA then you have been fooled twice.

Richardson was out of the state a good deal of the time which left DO_NOTHING DENISH in charge to do EXACTLY NOTHING as she didn't want to upset Fat Billy. After all, he could have been elected president! FAT CHANCE!

I have to tell you Bob. I mean no disrespect to you when I say this but that is the most ridiculous bit of reading I have read in a long time. She was / is part of the Richardson political machine. You have done nothing but reach for excuses for her. Plain and simple. I dont like Martinez and would really vote for someone else but Bill Richardson in a dress is not who I will vote for.

I am at least glad that you do acknowledge three chins for what he is - a crook. I do give you credit for that.

I cant help but feel that if she was interested in stopping corruption at all why she has not gone after all of those money laundering "banks" in Las Cruces? There are over 200 that serve no purpose whatsoever besides launder drug money. WHile Las Cruces is not a major destination for the drugs themselves it IS A business center for the underworld. And Hatch is (was) a major smuggling point at the "drop yard" for the semi trailers.

With all her posturing about "fighting corruption" and the fact that she has been DA in a county that lives and breathes corruption it just seems a bit hypocritical. Then to accept a pile of funds from out of state oil interests is apalling...The seeds of corruption is in her pocket and she is going to do exactly WHAT about new Mexico's corruption?

Then all of the police killings in Dona Ana County. She is a big part in how the police have managed to become our overlords. Do we really want that Statewide? While I abhoor the status quo with Bill and his sponging ways I am very afraid that Susana will take us one giant step backwards into some sort of quasi police state. She has not jailed a single corrupt politician, smugler, or money launderer in her position as DA. But many people have gone to prison for too many dogs and cats, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice, etc.etc. It seems the main crime for her is opposing the police. If they have a good excuse they will kill you and she will support that 100%. While many citizens in Las Cruces may feel that this is just fine, it is NOT what the majority in New Mexico would feel is right for our lifestyles.

And one quick look at her involvement with drugs and the connection with teh Las cruces legal community will reveal that she is not al that tough on drug dealers if they are lawyers or police, but very tough on citizens who commit much lesser crimes.

Denish? Not a lot of good and not a lot of bad. She would make a good leader and probably wil not be a stellar performer. Susana? Her whole life she has been pissing peole off and rocking the boat. Many love it but many more have suffered needlessly while she acted like a bull in a china closet. Who knows who would be more effective? Susana surely will rock the boat and will care less if half this state suffered as long as they complied with her ideals. It is my personal opinion that Denish will make a better leader, move us steadily forward and not cause chaos over people who disageed with her ideology. While she mauy not be as effective as Susana at being a conquistadora she wil make the better governess for certain.

She is absolutely NOT a part of Richardsons political machine. Her and Bill have been at odds since day one and she is an outsider in Santa Fe as well as the Norteno mob that controls New Mexico.

I am not suporting her at all, just being objective. I work with the whole gang her ein Santa Fe and I see what goes on every day. I see how it is easy to say she is Bills lapdog and this gets a whole bunch of mileage with the Susana supporters. But "what they say" and "how it is" are two completely different things.

Like I pointed out, it would be much better to decide on who you are going to vote for by studying what is KNOWN about each candidate, rather than swallow the lies that Denish is in cahoots with Bill.

There are many crooks here. I watch them slither through this sewer daily. It is my humble opinion that Dianne is one of the best that New Mexico has. And it is also my humble opinion that Susana is an egotistical liar that will do absolutely anything at all to get power and fame. Bill keeps Diane at arms length but embraces Susana completely. Election rhetoric aside Susana has always been suppportive of Bill and Dianne never has. But if you are prone to believeing what the candidates tell you in paid political advertisements then Susana is certainly your girl.

Whoever wins this election it does not really matter. It means more of the same for New Mexicans. We have the choice of red or green, as always.

Diane Denish is a party to King Bill's over-spending.

She does not deserve getting the nod for governor.

Susanna Martinez is the most credible candidate since Diane lost her credibility while chasing King Bill's coat tails.

What amazes me is that there is one long standing principle about law, any law, that Denish is brushing off. Ignorance of the law is not a defense. Everyone knows that and that argument does not hold up! Of course, I don't think she was "unaware" of the laws regarding the airplane travel. Typical tactic of any politician; deny until proven otherwise!
