Well I could care less if it upsets people. However with all the other issues going on with this state there are many more pressing priorities that they need to tackle first. I'm shocked that the gay marriage thing is even on the table with all these spending issues. Hello!! We are all being taxed to death and we want to talk about gay marriage? How about talking about how to stop spending and taxing? Once they learn how to do that then we can move forward with the marriage issues. But first things first!

Let's see what the people of this state really want. Put it to a public vote.

I agree with you 100000%. What a screwed up government we somehow keep electing. With the state finances in tatters, taxes going through the roof and people voting with their feet, why are we being hit with new $25 license plates and stipend increases for everyone in government? It's time for a BIG change in Albany. Gay vote? Put it to the voters as they have done in other states.

who cares if it offends christians? Everything offends these dolts. I still haven't heard one good reason as to not have this as it does not effect anybody else but the two people getting married. The religious argument is a horrible one as religion does not rule the state and everybody does not follow your religion.

The gays know that if it went to a public vote, it would get shot down just like it has been in every other State. Circumventing the voters and allowing the government to decide for them is their only hope, but it's still not going to get passed. They'll just have to keep going to Canada to get "married".

Some people out here like to think that it's a big deal for the senate to vote on a measure like this. How long does it really take to yes or nay a bill? They can work out the other problems after the 20 mins it takes them to cast their votes.

Keri, you're a psychopath. The bible is a group of made up stories to help steer you down a proper moral pathway. Clearly it has failed you.

No worries, they'll get to the vote in a few days (hopefully) and we'll know what happens then and move forward.

I think everyone is getting a little tired of christians and their rhetoric. It's pretty much why all of the Catholic schools and churches are folding. Nobody wants to be affiliated with a hate group.

Unreal!! it's not just christians that think it is wrong, take a look in your shorts Don what do you see and what do you think it's purpose is for what you see in your drawers? There was a reason that men and women have different "parts" and only one reason!! You can argue all you want about your preference but It still goes against the natural order of mankind, So I will still applaud any Govt (which is rare} that votes NO on this issue, If it has to be put to vote let the people vote!!

It is not the actual voting that is the issue.

It is the consequences of the voting that will cause the problems.

Imagine having to explain to your constituents back home that you
voted for legalization of gay marriage?

What do you believe would happen to that politician in the next election?

My money says that politician would no longer actively be in that political role.

Movements of equality. OBSERD gat marriage is not a movement of equality. Gays already have equality. Marriage is not equality it is a special instition set-up by GOD between a man and a woman, therefore religious.which any attempt to legislate religious views is barred by the seperation of church & state under tthe constition

you do not care what offends christians. You most likley are one of those that would seek to distroy this country's institions. It does effect many other than homosexuals all laws do.You might think that Christian preceps are horrible but wait until after your day you will know horriable forever
