Racism is the mental illness-THAT, I'm sure, is what you meant. White people I know here in the south are raised to have manners and, mostly, to be non racist.(Being white is a desease? Sounds racist to me...) The world is turning, racism is dying in the traditional sense. Its black people who mostly perpetuate it nowadays, against whites as well as mixed folk like me. Ms. Badu, I believe, made a comment to the effect of "If I'd known White People would be listening to my music, I'd never have been a singer". I'm researching that, so if I'm wrong then please pardon, Ms. Badu and fans.<quoted text>
If it does not apply ler it fly. There are some vulgar people out there who get away from the discusssion and go beserk with the sexual connotations and the racist ones. Its like a child who does not want to hear something and puts their hands over their ears saying lalala. Well like I said MENTAL ILLNESS.

1 They will they rise up and exterminate the Black Hebrews squatting in Palestine. Those scums have no more business there than their pal Sharon does. I'm anti-Iraq war, but a piece of garbage like that thing is no more welcome than the various Nazi groups hollering about "Zionists" when they really mean "Jews." Yes, it's no surprise that Badu is a NOI/5%er. Next someone will be "surprised" that "Ladybug Mecca" is a 5%er and has racist/Afrocentric views! |

1 I understand your point, but it matters to me whether or not she is a racist. She is an icon in the black community, therefore, her views have influence. I love her music, but after reading this article about her, I can't support her. As an African American man, I repudiate people like Farrakhan. He stands for everything that I am against and he does not speak for all African Americans. |

I absolutely adore Ms. Badu. She's beautiful, clever, musically gifted, wonderfully eccentric and on and on. So I am completely depressed to learn of her support of Minister Farrakhan -- Depressed

Dear Watchman81,
Are you still out there? We should talk. Like my posting says, this (Badu's position) depresses me to no end. It also hurts me to read the vile, sexual comments made against her. The whole thing's depessing. |

I'm still here. It is disappointing to see her take the views she has, but I can't say I'm surprised. A lot of African Americans are taken in by by the angry teachings of people like Mr. Farrakhan. It seems that people like him, Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson would rather have us live with a victimhood mentality where we blame the white man for the state we are in today. It's a shame, because the longer we have this attitude, the longer we will suffer for it. As for the remarks about her, I agree that they are inappropriate and wrong. |

1 Are you speaking with knowledge of most of these men's speeches or what? Rev. Sharpton, Rev. Jackson, and Min. Farrakhan, especially, have more to say about what BLACK people need to do than anything else. I don't agree with everything those men say or do, as I don't agree with everything anyone says or does, but I can honestly say that they take US to task more than non Blacks. |

LOUIS walcott was a calypso singer before he found islam or what the nation of islam distorts as religion. what has he done for the community? he wears a perm for chrissakes and lives in a nice house. why are the brothers out there with bow ties and bean pies not living nice as he is? he's a fraud and a phony. there's radicals in all religions but he's just another ghetto preaching pimp just like reverend ike and creflo dollar.
erykah? take off the weave honey obviously it's choking that pea brain of yours. she's not exactly a poster girl for modern feminism |

she should be happy white people are buying her records. i'm black and have no interest in her whatsoever. if she was depending on me to buy her records, she'd be better off working the drive thru at taco bell |

It was actually Lauryn Hill that made this statement. |
