When are black women going to start sporting their own hair? Jennifer Hudson has very nice natural hair and although it may not be as long as say... Heidi Klum - it's still beautiful. She should sport it more instead of having a head full of weave glued around the edges of her head.

some black women do wear their own hair, it depends on prefrence and other factors

Of course I am not talking about "some" black women, I am talking about the majority of them - lets be honest with ourself, most black women sport weaves and wigs - even those who just lead everyday normal lives.

yes? but this argument is always thrown at women, what about arican american/black men wearing their hair natural? not cutting it, not locking or braiding it? why dont they just grow it and stop putting waves in and perming/relaxing it? the fake hair argument never ever gets seen from this angle

cutting your hair and braiding and locking it are natural hairstyles, no chemicals+natural, an afro is not your only option when wearing your hair natural

Why? Because most black men don't sport weaves and the real reason why this "argument" as you call it never gets "seen from this angle" is because, black women are in denial about their self -esteem as it relates to hair. We try to deny it, but we wear these weaves, wigs and ext. for a reason - even when we do have a relaxer, that is not good enough, we have to go and place a whole wig overtop the relaxed hair why? Because we want the hair length that a none black woman has. Now if anybody is going to argue that fact would be a plum out fool, because it's true.

You have spoken like a person with common sense. Only black women who try and defend the use of wigs and relaxers come up with such an excuse - there are various ways for a black woman to sport her natural hair, but the truth is this: most black women dont' want to sport their natural hair. That's why they don't see any other option for the natual hair but to put the cream crack in it.

Are you crazy? I know many black women who have natural hair well past their shoulders. You just ASSUME that the sister has a weave. That's just ignorant.

This woman is getting PAID!

I looked at her website and I am thinking for something that starts at 1500 it needs to generate money, wash cars, paint houses, do grocery shopping...

DANG!

Not to mention what she charges for freaking labor!

You really want that product in order to spend that much money.

Having said that... there were quite a few that were kinda sexy. I could envision some Pam Grier action with the cat suit going on.

On second thought maybe I need to reinvent myself as a modern day CJ Walker and open up shop for 1500 a client. Plus labor of course.

I've seen one lady in our office wearing one and it looked GOOD...she's a white lady with breast cancer...she had to shave all her hair off and sport the lace wig...I never knew she had a lace front until another co-worker told me...anyhow she's doin much better with her cancer, it's supposedly in remission and her hair is growin back..but she prefers to sport the wig!

Some women just don't have nice hair and look better with wigs or weaves!

I bet almost HALF of these bytches on here that laugh and degrade people with the false hair would get a lace front wig in a heart beat if they ass got CANCER! I bet they wouldn't walk around bald-headed!

Well, there's women out there that just can't grow nice long manes of hair, so they do what they gotta do to look good!

LOL - that's because it is a weave. The average black woman with a relaxer doesn't have long flowing hair - the only black women that I see on a daily basis with hair past their butts are black women with sisterlocks or dreadlocks. I see very black women who have a relaxer and their hair is past their butts and if they do have it, it's not due to the relaxer, it's probably genetics. We are talking about the everday black woman who has burned and fried her hair to the point to where a weave or a wig is her only other options to get that straight flowing hair that she so desires. Well Jordan I really dont know why you are on this site. Its a discussion about women talking about our Beauty and hair. I personally am not interested in going on mens sports blogs.
